after editing it should not look artificially like cut by lasso tool or by the extract option in filters.only the background should be removed without any prob to the foreground image.Give some ideas pls...i want edit my neighbour's child for his birthday present!

One way is to enlarge the picture until the pixels can be viewed as blocks. Do this on a copy of the picture in case you want to begin again. Now copy a pixel from the background close to the hair, then paste the background pixel over a pixel showing hair. Repeat until hair pixels are reduced in number. Keep viewing the result on normal view until satisfied. Though this manual method is time consuming, unlike using the edit facilities in a graphics programme, you should finish with the results you want. Any pixel looking out of place or too bright, etc, can be edited again.

Well go slow with the lasso tool, to get perfect it will consume and lot of time and paitence. Sorry, But, lasso it the only function to remove a part of the picture.
