How long is the processing time?

It depends on the test and what method they're using. Most tests take an hour or so, some might take a day. But generally they take longer because they might run that particular assay only once a day, say, in the morning or afternoon, and if the sample arrives too late, it will have to wait until the next day. Some uncommon drug tests might get run once a week. You don't want to miss that run.

If they do a quick test in the ER or doctors office it dose not take very long to get it back. With that said sometimes they may have to send it off to test for certain drugs. But just a basic test about 30 mins to a hour. Counts on how busy the lab is.
