According to medical professionals, the answer is no. Who truly knows? Don't either of you know a nurse who can help with dosage? You could make an anonymous call to the E.R. and tell the nurse on call the situation and that she cannot be talked out of taking the med. Sometimes they can/will help.

Fish Mox pills are stamped with AA 825!

AA 825 (Amoxicillin 500 mg)
Pill imprint AA 825 has been identified as Amoxicillin 500 mg.

Amoxicillin is used in the treatment of dental abscess; bacterial infection; sinusitis; chlamydia infection; urinary tract infection (and more), and belongs to the drug class aminopenicillins. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Amoxicillin 500 mg is not subject to the Controlled Substances Act.

I researched the Fish Mox pills for fish. They appear to be the exact pills as the ones made for humans. They're made by the same manufacturer, their appearance is the same compared to the human pills and their dosage is the same 250mg and 500mg. If the manufacturer is already producing antibiotics for humans in its manufacturing plant it makes no sense it would make the fish pills in a different plant to save money.

Any information you want to know can usually be found by searching Google. You just have to know how to ask your question. Example: What types of antibiotics are used to treat an ear infaction in humans Once you know which antibiotic to use, you ask what dosage and duration and then follow the instructions.

I've used Fish Mox for sinus infections (250mg, 3X day for 10 days) and it cleared it up very well. I think I paid something like $15.00 for a 30 pill bottle. Not too shabby.

The Chesire Cat,

You are incorrect and Cav 16 is correct. The pills that are being sold in the Fish Mox bottles are the exact same pills that are given to you by the doctor. Once a pill has an identifier on it, it doens't change. If the chemicals in the pill are changed the identifier must be changed as well.

Yes you are trying to scare the public to gain profit share for your pharmacy, shame on you for lying

I have taken the exact bottle to pediatrician AND my PCP a few years ago. They both said it was ok. The family has been taking theses for approx 5 years now.
They are not abused. We see the doc when needed. I too have been in Medical field 20+ years, back office nurse in office,. My son, Daughter and son in law are paramedics.
I am familiar with this antibiotic own stethoscope, and otoscope. I do not give it freely and not for everty infection. I get it okays from a Doc too.

I have heard of people taking animal medication... but it is very dangerous. First of all, how does she know that she needs 250 mg. and how often she will have to take it? Second, it may clean an aqurium but what if it has other additives that she does not know about? I would tell my friend not to take it. There is an organization that helps people who need medication. It is the big orange bus PPA association that Montel Williams does the ad for. There are also free clinics all over the nation. The health department fees are based on income ... she probably would not have to pay anything. Also, physicians will give you samples if they know you are not covered by insurance. If she feels that she has to self diagnosis, at least she needs to take an antiobiotic that has been prescribed to a human! Help her now!

If you are not a doctor, a PA or a knowledgeable nurse, keep your opinions out of here.
Don't post the legality of it, just the ANSWER if you have a knowledgeable one.
We all know it says not for human consumption...DUHHHHHHH
With that says,,,does anyone have a REAL answer based on medical science?

its the same thing but i would think stuff for the fish would be a way smaller dose and weaker than the stuff for humans, so i dont see how it can help much, i can get amoxicillin at wallmart for 4 dollars a perscription now. and so can she. but its true a doctor has to write the script.
