if God was mad at the world, why did He have to send His 'son' to kill him (himself?) for somebody else's crime?

if I am a policeman and I see thieves robbing a bank, should I send my son to the bank and shoot him?

where's the logic? *confused*

No logic brother Aziz...well i m confused about many other thing.......like how could God lived a human life?? why was he killed when he was god? if a god can't save himself from killing , how could he save all christanity??how come God has a son? No logic at all..( sorry no offence)

N most importantly , everyone has to pay for ones sins and no one else can suffer for that even if he is prophet , this is what our Allah called justice....so simple is that Jesus(pbuh) was a prophet,

It's because God LOVES people. That's why they were created- because he wants to get to know them and have a relationship with them.

God doesn't hate the world- it's the world that hates him. God made certian rules, such as 'don't murder' and 'don't cheat on your wife', yet people didn't follow them, which, as I'm sure you know, is reffered to sin. People chose to disobey God, and it made him sad. Not angry or mad- sad. He misses us- sin pushes us away from God.

So, God sent Jesus to die on the cross so us, the people, could find our way back to him and have a loving relationship with him once more.

You see, people are stubborn- they want to see things before they believe them. Everyone is like this- even me. So, by sending his only son, God was able to show the people through tangible evidence and events how much he cared for them, and how much he wanted them to come back and love him again! He was willing to let his son die... in front of everyone. Not only that, but Jesus was humiliated-- he was spat at, made fun of, and tortured.

The thing is, though, Jesus rose from the dead-- thus defeating death. Think about it- if you die, but then come back alive again, you must have more power than death does. And, that's exactly what Jesus did. He defeated death so we, the people, could defeat it too. But we need God's help- after all, we are only humans, and we can't raise from the dead (aka- go to heaven) without asking God for help.

Anyway, the main point I'm getting at here is that God was NOT mad at the world.

Sure, there's a ton more to the story, and you can check books out from the library and all that stuff to get more info.

The Case for Christ is an awesome book you should consider reading if you're interested. It's completely logical- an athiest wrote it, actually. He was a lawyer kinda guy, and asks all these crazy questions, like the one you're asking now. It's not biased either-- just take a look for yourself. I know it helped me.

I too find the idea that a God of Love could not find a better method to return human beings into union with Him. It might be helpful to know that the Eastern Church has a slightly different idea of original sin than does the Western Church. In the Orthodox church humankind did not live up to its potential. It is in the Western Churches that we have the idea of the fall from grace.

Also there are differences of opinions among theologians.
Here is a link that explains the concept of Redemption in great detail in the RC church. http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12677d.htm

Some look to the Incarnation as the most important act of God. By becoming man in the person of Jesus, Jesus became the bridge to bring humankind back into union with God. Personally, I follow this view. Since I am an Episcopalian I am not bond by strict dogma and am free (up to a point) to follow the teaching of any of the other Christian churches. My own personal believes tend more towards those of the Orthodox.

Jesus' dying for ones sin is just a creation of the deceivers. God has declared that long time ago from Deuteronomy to Ezekiel that the one who sins is the one who shall die. Father shall not be held liable for the sins of his sons nor the son shall be answerable to sins of the father. Look for the. Deuteronomy 24:16. Ezekiel 18:3-26. The real God is not putting the blame on someone else except the one who made wrong. What more about sending His Son ( or Himself as the Son) to forgive the ones who are just his creation/ It is stupid of their God.

If a person does something wrong, brakes the law. they have to atone (pay for it.) If a person gets caught stealing they will pay for it in one way or another. Re-pay the person that was ripped off. Pay for the item, pay a fine, go to jail...whatever, some sort of fine and penalty will be imposed. Simply put: Do a crime, expect to pay the fine-do the time. A long time ago (Old Testament) sin, transgression against God was strictly enforced. God, and in some cases man, demanded a blood sacrifice to atone-pay the penalty for the sin. Blood sacrifice meant the death/blood of a choice animal had to be made. God has made a new way to atone and be forgiven of sin. It took perfection, sinlessness, something/someone perfect to pay for something/someone sinful and imperfect. Jesus, as the Son of God was, and is, the only one to fit this criteria. He is Gods Son, perfectely sinless, holy and acceptable to take the sin of all people away. Just as it was a long time ago, it took the death/blood of Jesus to accomplish this. And this is exactly what Jesus did when He died on the cross. He did it out of love. Love for us..all of us. Jesus is no longer dead. Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven. His sacrificial death on our behalf is so powerful that it can cover, pay for, the sins of all people. A person needs to believe in this gift of love. People should give Him thanks every way they can for what He did for us. I guess that's the logic. Jesus had the power to do such a thing. He did it out of love. He did it for us.

If you are a policeman, and you die in the line of duty, doing a heroic and sacrificial deed (like stepping in front of a civilian and taking a bullet, in his place) than your father would have every right to be very proud of you.

Your murderer would be tried and sentenced, probably losing everything he has.

And if your father was the king, and he had the power to raise you up from the dead, he might also then decide to make you ruler of the kingdom, for life.

Christ's life, death, and resurrection worked pretty much the same way.

Jesus heroically volunteered to put himself in harm's way for us, at his father's request.

The devil unjustly arranged his brutal execution.

Satan was judged for his crime and stripped of all that he had gained from Adam's fall. (The death penalty does not seem to be an option for fallen angels, at least in this age.)

Jesus was raised from the dead and promptly installed as the new leader of all mankind.

Jesus granted us freedom from our former bondage to Satan.

The rest is history.

Same scenario. Different take. I hope it makes sense for you now.

Ever pay a speeding ticket? Did they ask who is paying the fine, no of course not.

Sin has a consequence. Romans 6:23 states, "the wages of sin is death...". God in His love for us knew we couldn't pay the "fine" ourselves, yet God being just could not allow sin to go unpunished, therefore, He took the punishment upon Himself and paid the "ticket" so we wouldn't have to.

They shouldn't have to die for someone else's sin. But God loves us so much and the sin is so great, He sent His Son to pay the price for reconciliation between God Almighty and man.
