Aside from the obvious abusive relationships... what about a relationship where either partner holds all of the power and makes all of the decisions and the other partner is a yes-man or yes-woman? or other ideas?

Decision making as a couple is hard, especially sharing that abilty. My boyfriend of three years, is very passive, and rarely makes a decision without asking me for advice. It's frustrating being in the driver's seat all the time.

The dysfunction is the reason why the person won't make a decision (passive-i.e. boyfriend had an abusive over bearing mothering) or, has to make all the decisions (control freak,).

It's a common problem that can be worked around through discussion, and maybe in some instances, therapy.

It actually works to have a dominant one in the relationship, if not there will be constant conflict. But As far as dysfunctional, I would say the relationships that break up once a month or once a week. That whole love you hate you thing is really dysfunctional.

One where one partner spends more time talking online to others than talking to partner. Exspecially if they are married.
