As long as you have at least a good friend, or a supportive family member to speak with consistently, I would go see a psychiatrist or a psychologist as a last resort.
Try to get into some sort of routine where you are exersizing on a daily basis. Work your way up to it until you are exercising 7 days a week. Eat healthy, try to get some sunlight as it can help people with depression, and just try to get outside of your house or your dorm more often.
Dont worry about the clubs or the bars, they are garbage. Concentrate your efforts on exercising, living a healthy lifestyle, and developing your intellect and other skills. As you are going through this process, you can get a good gym membership(some run for as low as $10.00 a month), and once you have confidence in yourself and you have eliminated your depression... It will be uncessesary to parade your body half naked inside of club like the rest of the other girls. You will attract much better guys naturally.

It just so happens as I was listening to Paul Harvey this morning, he reported on this very topic. Exercise is indeed the best medicine for depression and a multitude of other things like brain power!! (Memory retention) Who'd o' thunk it. Jocks have a better chance of retaining the little they did learn in school. But it also helps against acquiring adult diabetes, cancers, obesity, and yes depression was listed among them. Keep in mind that it doesn't have to be heavy sweaty work out, just 20 minutes a day walking at a fast clip. Its easier to stick with something that's fun for you though. I prefer biking. gets me around the neighborhood and allows me to see more and be interrupted less. If you have access to a swimming pool, that's probably best because it works all the muscle groups at once.

I'd also suggest you improve your diet. Drop the sodas, chips and candy and start munching on fruit and leafy greens. Eggs, cheese, and bananas help stabilize the stool while you move from heavy fatty meals. As it happens, Mr. Harvey mentioned yesterday in his news cast that as much sugar as is contained in just two sodas per day is enough to give you as much as an 80% higher chance of contracting Pancreatic Cancer.

Exercise will do wonders for your depression.
Healthy amounts of sunlight will help the pineal gland to produce melatonin, a neurotransmiiter that works as an anti-depressant naturally. The pineal gland produces this naturally in response to circadian rhythms, or changes in daylight. This explains spring fever, or the lifting of the "winter blues", because the mind is naturally brought out of its protective "hibernation" state of mind that is induced by winter. The shorter hours of daylight cause the pineal gland (behind the eye) to produce less melatonin, thereby affect serotonin levels, and leaving a more depressed mood.

A dietary supplement is available to boost serotonin manufacture, 5 - HDT. It may help you regulate your serotonin levels to cope with your depression. Even more important, however, it is crucial that you learn effective coping mechanisms to find real solutions to your life stressors. I wish you all the luck you need to find that place. I have fought depression for years and have learned much of this through my own experience.

You will get out of your depression. Just follow my suggestions carefully and sincerely.

Go to a park nearby your place early in the morning when the dew is fresh. Walk barefoot on the grass for 5 minutes. Put a spread on the grass and sit on it facing east. The raising sun's rays have a lot of beneficial properties. Do breathing exercise for 5 minutes. Do meditation for 5 minutes. While doing meditation, please chant the name of your family deity mentally.

The entire exercise would take 30 minutes. This will condition your body and mind. The depression would go away. When the depression goes away your thinking power would improve and you would solve your other problems on your own.

If you want to know anything else, please send me a message.

yoga, pilates, a dance tape something where you control the outcome... I have a pretty hectic crazy life sometimes too as we all do. And there is nothing like routine and control that makes you feel good. When you get finished you feel a major since of accomplishment and ... not so fat :)

you are facing a good number of problems,in your present state of mind these would appear impossible to manage on your own.The best solution would be to talk to someone in whom you have confidence , someone capable of giving sound advise & guiding you through these difficult times. Antidepressants come into the picture when all else fails.

The best thing that will help is working out! It sounds stupid but it works. When I was depressed my dad suggested that and it worked so well. your body gets too tired to be depressed. and you actually feel so good afterward it really works try it.
