It depends whether it is a UK or US SWAT.

In the UK, the police, and indeed the ambulance service, are liable for all damage to property. For example, if the paramedics cut your trousers open to check out your leg, they compensate you for the clothes.

However, this money does not come directly from the ambulance or the SWAT team, but from seperate government funds, put aside for just such eventualities. In the US, it is different.

There, you are responsible for yourself, and if you have put yourself under suspiscion, then they figure that you should pay the fees yourselves. In California, the police don't even have to clear up the mess after a shooting, they have companies who come and do it for them (at the expense of the public).

In conclusion, I would say just avoid the SWAT teams and you will have nothing to worry about!

Yea,, closely following the SWAT team are the SDAR (special doors and replacement) team,, that does all the repair work. Sadly, they are so secretive,, that they never allow themselves to be filmed, so you'll just have to take my word for it.. man, those guys are good.

If the SWAT team came to your house and broke the door you would either be dead or arrested so it wouldnt matter if they replaced your door or not!
