Yes but only temporarily. Then you return to a much bigger problem........DRUG ADDICTION.

They don't help you get over them .. they just block the symptoms and don't get to the root of the problem. Drugs can be addictive with harmful side effects and alcohol is a depressant. If you drink to forget, then you will find that you feel worse when you sober up. Best to find someone to talk to or start writing .. do anything to open up and get it all out of your system. The more you try to bury the emotions with drugs and alcohol, the worse it will get.

Drugs and alcohol will not get you over the emotional pain that you are experiencing. What it does is numb it. The best way is to ride it out. Cry, shout, get it out of your system. If you use the drug and ETOH system you will become a drug addict and a alcoholic is no time. Best of luck

No. They create additional problems for you.

If you are having trouble dealing with something "emotional", maybe you should seek some professional help for it. There are lots of "support groups" around and often it helps to talk to other people who are going through something similiar.

I wish you the best.

Anything other than confronting and dealing with emotional pain does not resolve that pain.
