WOW! All those answers seem to be blaming the children for something their parents created...how hippocritical is that?

Today's children don't have the same freedoms as children years ago. Years ago it was safe to leave the house after breakfast and not come back until dinner. No one needed mobiles to keep track of where they are, or drive them everywhere. The world had an innocence about it, where now that innocence is lost. Today's parents have to worry what happens when the children leave the house because there are more dangers awaiting their children.

Today's children have had their sense of childhood stripped from media, for marketing campaigns, from busy parents, from a world where children can be exposed to sex, drugs, alcohol before they even understand what they are.

Today's children are made to rely on technology that can act as a bad influence as well as a good...

Parents are trying to give their children a different life to what they had, which is not uncommon in the past generations except a lot of today's children aren't taught boundaries, respect, and the importance of following rules...and because they aren't taught they simply do not know. People think they should just know, but remember a child's behaviour is learned behaviour.

I am a parent of 2 toddlers, and am constantly fighting the fight of allowing them to keep their innocence. People judge when your kids walk in the house dirty from top to toe because they should be clean. Why should they be clean? If they have had heaps of fun playing in dirt and mud, why should they not experience this?

Stop blaming the children for adults mistakes, and I am not just saying the parents but the wider community are at fault too.

Hi! well first and foremost There is no discipline, respect or consequences for unruly behavior. Most parents are either afraid of having their children taken away from them and being charged criminally for spanking or otherwise correcting them or the parents are rebelling their strict upbringing buy following the mantra mantra of their teenage years of " i hate my parents, I'm not going to treat MY kids this way". I believe kids would be better off these days if the government and the states would stay out of the lovingly disciplined homes and focus on the truly bad mistreated families out their.

they are a hell of a lot different! kids way back when, knew their place, when to speak, and listened to adults. they may not have liked it very much, but they did as they were told, no if, ands or buts about it. but these little rug rats of today's society think they gave birth to you. they don't listen, they are rude and disrespectful. they don't care who you are or how much older you are, they will cuss you out, not think twice about it nor will they lose any sleep over it. there is a drastic difference between children from years ago and children of today. children of years ago grew up with time. today, they are grown way before their time. i think it has to do with the parents and the rising number in adolescent parents. they are kids themselves trying to raise kids and the correct things are not taught to them. it is a vicious cycle that i don't see ending any time soon unless parents really emphasis on sex when you are ready, not married, but ready. parents really need to sit down and talk with their children about it, like really talk with them some serious talk. show them what could happen if they have sex prematurely, either pregnancy or worst aids.

Basically it is the culture that makes the difference. Beliefs and ideals has become so liberal so that in some places you can even get charge in disciplining a child. You see family, relatives and/or friend values are so shocking, they even found it funny when a child learned some perverse words. To cut it short, children has just copied the rotten values of their parents or their communities.

I have found that they are more lazy because of all of these video games and more smart mouthed. They need more discipline and need to get out and about. This is why most children between the ages of 6-15 are obese.

Today's children attend "micro managed activities" instead of just being children and going outside to play. They have lost the ability to be creative on their own.

We got our asses beat at home and at school when we were destructive or disobedient. We had to work for everything and no such thing as an allowance.
Kids now, talk to their parents awful, they're lazy, disrespectful,
vandals, and rude.
Our parents would have removed all our teeth if we behaved inappropriately. And that's the way I raised my children.
I'm a proud child beater.

Well I had to walk a mile up the hill barefoot in 2 feet of snow just to get to school.....lol

Responsibilities....

Integrity...

Advanced Technology...and spoiled by it.

Less parental supervision due to both parents working....meaning...more feel to do as they please.
Rules however they make the choice and Dr. Spock was let in.

Best wishes

THE CHILDREN TODAY HAVE CHOICES AND THEY ARE NOT MADE TO DO ANYTHING THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO DO. THEY ARE FORCED TO GROW UP TOO FAST AND MAKE DECISIONS THAT THEY ARE NOT READY FOR. TODAY'S PARENTS ARE MORE WORRIED ABOUT THEMSELVES AND THEIR JOBS AND HOW MUCH MONEY THEY MAKE. THEY ARE FORGETTING THE MOST IMPORTANT THING RIGHT AFTER GOD.
