Oh yes, of course! The right diet can cure almost all medical problems. As stated above, Dr. Ornish has an excellent program that includes a Vegan diet and Cardiovascular activities to reverse heart disease. Also read John Robbins "The Food Revolution". To begin a healthier diet, eliminate ALL fast food, sugary foods, greasy foods, and high fat content foods. Eat as much fresh veggies and fruits as you can. Eat often, but smaller meals to get your metabolism working faster. Eliminate meat and dairy products from your diet. It may seem hard to do at first, but with time you'll see it is actually more taste to cook this way. And you become more creative. Good luck to you!

Start eating more fiber and just start eating leaner foods. That is what the doctor told me. They also have me on an aspirin a day.
I was on high doses of niacin for about a year, and it damaged my liver. In the Merck manual, it states that taking high doses of niacin over a prolonged period can damage your liver. If you want to take niacin only take about 100mg. a day. It will lower the cholestreol and help clean out the arteries. Oatmeal or oat bran is also great for it.

Diet helps- especially niacin- and lots of it if your liver it good- and antioxidants and fish oil. CLA - they have an anti-inflammatory effect that is suppose to decrease cholesterol- part of cholesterol forming is a reaction to inflammation- and oxidants, sugars, white flour and processed junk cause an inflammatory reaction- check it out online- It is more than just bad fat- D
