I bought one of these cutting boards at Whole Foods. It is really nice to cut on, but I wonder what it is made of. The description on the label and on their website says "environmentally friendly". I really want to know if its healthy for ME!

It says it is a natural wood fiber composite laminate. I wonder what kind of chemicals are used in the the composite.

Formaldehyde and rubber cement.

yeah, I don't think the chemicals used in the board should be your worries. The creepy crawlies that live in it because you got lazy on washing it one time...that's the scary part. Stick with the wood product. The chemicals, natural or otherwise will deter decay.

Just give it a wash with chlorox bleach, dish liquid and hot water every night and allow it to air dry..
