The questions are so fun because they are not based on rational ideas. It's fun to make up answers- like playing pretend or something. Besides everyone likes to watch (or imagine) the fireworks these comments inspire.

Because we have every right to, that's why. There's no such thing as a demon, therefore, we cannot be compelled by anything other than ourselves to answer one question or another. Just because atheism is defined as a lack of belief in God or any other deity, doesn't mean we can't answer questions about religion.

First off, you can't have belief without disbelief. It's a natural paradox. Therefore, as long as there are believers, there will be unbelievers. As long as there are unbelievers, there will be believers. Get used to it because neither of us is going anywhere until the end of time.

Secondly, you don't have to be religious to study a religious text. Or several. Anyone who so chooses can go to the local library or bookstore(or even Amazon.com) and purchase or check out a copy of whatever text they wish to study. Because anyone can read and study a religious text if they choose, they can answer questions pertaining to those text(s) they've read. No religious indoctrination necessary.

Thirdly, a good many of us who are "unbelievers" were born and raised believers. Does our current disbelief suddenly erase our years and years of religious instruction, just like that? I don't think so. We don't forget what our former beliefs were about, just because we don't believe in them anymore.

Therefore, we're just as qualified as believers to answer questions about spirituality and religion and most of us can do it without insults.

I can only speak for myself. I like to learn about people, how they think and where they think this country should go. Unfortunately, religious people are in the minority, so I need to know how they think and this is a great place to get a good look at the cross-section of the country.

I also like to debate my own thoughts and feelings, play devil's advocate for awhile. And sometimes, I'm snide because I just can't understand how so many people can believe. I'm truly baffled.

Believers and faithfuls are the greatest fools ever found on this earth. they do not know anything beyond their holybooks. they dont even know that there are other religions co-exist with thiers.

if a non-believer reads your book, that is to answer your foolish questions. believers just cant understand that. no wonder they believe that god will come down to save them one day.

We read and answer questions in this category because we have an interest in religion and/or spirituality. That's the only reason anyone, theist or atheist, answers questions here, and it's very depressing that people keep asking this question.

First of all, I, too, am seeking truth.

And second, if sincere people of various beliefs cannot find ways to have a discussion, then human kind has a serious problem.

People can be interested in religion and spirituality and not neccessarily have to identify with any one particular ideology. Why do some "believers" feel need to feel threatened by people who don't believe the same things they do?

And why do Christians always have to bring in Demonic forces . When people state their views on their interpretation of what they have read and believe.

sometimes they may be looking for answers,
and then they may make a comment that you don't like,
but at least they read it,
