The girl (23) is very mature for her age, a college grad, has a good job... has been through alot in life... always lived w/father so is def not seeking a parent wants a family one day and a loving man.
The guy (43) chose the career path after the military in hopes he'd find a wife somewhere along the way... women he'd been with cheated.. he took time to figure himself out and what he wanted and focused on work. now owns a house and has a good stable job and wants a family.
they both agree on many things, life, children, relationships, love, have some of the same friends... The girl is friends with his mother and two brothers, helped move him into his home and set up/organize it. There is a flirtation between them nothing more than friendship... the girl wants to wait till marriage or engagement for sex and the guy knows this... could this become a good relationship/marriage?

I don't think we should allow society to dictate age restrictions in relationships. There is a 21 year age gap between my boyfriend and I (I'm 27). I have never been happier in my life. Just like with any relationship, it needs to have the essentials like trust, understanding, communication, interests, goals, etc. If those elements are in place, then nothing else matters. Love is the greatest feeling in the world, and age shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing it.

First of all, the age difference is a cultural thing. It is not normally accepted by middle-class Americans, but in countries such as the Philippines it is accepted. If the woman's primary focus is to raise a family, it will probably not be an issue. If she wants a career, she should work a few years first, then get married. Remember, Abraham married his niece Sariah who was 20 years younger, and they gave us Jacob, the father of the 12 tribes of Israel. My sister, on the other hand, married a Mexican who was 20 years her senior. He was very charming to her until they got married, then began imposing his idea of Mexican culture on her by insisting she obey his every whim. She became his servant rather than equal partner in the marriage. She became a nurse just to take care of his medical needs. They could not reconcile religious differences. They ended up divorcing (please do not take this as an assault on any cultures, Mexican or otherwise). My sister is now happily married to a wonderful Nigerian.

well nothing is a for sure thing in life. divorces are a dime a dozen these days. but you seem to have more plus's on your side than negatives to start out with. So try dating her and see how you feel after a while. Its okay for the woman to be younger than the man. Normal acutally. More awkward the other way around.

good luck!

It seems like it could be a great marriage/relationship thing if the friends and family do not have major objections to it... for the girl the father will probably have a strong opinion on it, either way.

well it depends on what does your heart say.20 years age different he is old enough to be your father just see how it plays out it could work if the 2 wanted it too.

As mature as she thinks she is...and as much in common as they believe they have...they're still on different pages. The girl hasn't really experienced life while the man has. She shouldn't tie herself down so soon.

Age is relative.
Maturity matters.

It is maturity which counts...not age...
