I want something unconventional yet meaningful (i.e. nothing abstract). I'm 1/2 korean so maybe a korean symbol....anybody have any creative ideas? Any suggestions would be great

i'm part korean as well and there is a korean coin that has an image of a bird (kindof looks like a phoenix) and i may have that incorporated into a future tattoo. i have just done some searches for images with the key word "korea" but it hasn't been easy. if you are interested in getting a bigger piece you could get some korean artwork which is quite beautiful. but as far as "symbols" there's really not much in the way of that.
their writing is called hangul and it is an alphabet and not characters as with chinese and japanese. so a word is multiple characters. not just one. good luck!

just make sure that it is something that you're not gonna mind seeing on yourself for the rest of your life. and make sure it signifies something important to you and is not just a random symbol from the walls of some cheap tattoo parlor. whatever you decide, you should make a stencil of the tattoo about a week before you plan to get it and draw it on yourself (or get someone else to do it if you find it too difficult) and look at it at every opportunity to make sure it is what you want and where you want it. trust me.

Suggest you visit lots of tattoo websites (just search on tattoo flash) and look at lots of designs until you find something you really, REALLY want. Then find yourself a GOOD tat artist

I think that if you are asking for suggestions from others you might want to reconsider getting a tattoo. It is a permanent decision. Think wisely and good luck!

i have 5 tats and everyone of them means something. so think of an image that defines you now or something from the past. the most original tattoo is one that actually means something, even if it is a common sort of tat. one of mine is a cross, but it is drawn like one a friend always wore who has passed on. so it's original.
