Since I've been sick for several months my temp. has been between 99.1 and 99.5. I think it went down to 98.6 once. Is this considered a low grade fever or is it possible to have this as your normal temperature. This has been going on since August. I have been sick but it has not yet gone down to normal.

As has been said already, 98.6 is the average human temperature. Your core temp. may be slightly above or below that. I would be much more concerned about being sick for an extended period of time. If you haven't recently. . . . please go and see a doctor.

If 98.6 is considered normal, and it is, understand that there's a range of people whose temp. falls on either side of that.
I happen to run a bit on the cool side - 96.8.
You're talking about 1/2 a degree or so and my "normal" temperature is almost 2 degrees off.
It IS possible to have that as YOUR normal temperature. Since I'm not a doctor, much less YOUR doctor, I couldn't tell you if that is OK, given your circumstances. And neither could anyone else on this page.

do u know what ur temp was before u fell sick? If it was lower than today then u have low grade fever - perhaps will go with lots of fluids over some exrtnded period.

98.6 is just an average. Yes, that could be normal for you.
