When my neihbor walks her dog she always stops in my yard and lets her dog defecate on my front lawn. I've asked her to stop and she won't. How do I stop her without involving the police?

Some cities have laws regarding not picking up after your pet. You might want to call your local Bureau of Animal Control and ask what the policies are in yours. If you don't want to go that route, start setting your sprinklers to the time that the dog comes around your yard. OR collect the poop and put it in her yard, near her door maybe? Well that last suggestion is a fun one but not really practical for your own legal liability. But the sprinkler thing might work.

You can put up a sign saying please no dogs on my lawn. You can try You could also ask the pet store for a spray that keeps animals off furniture or other areas and try spraying it around the edges and other areas of your lawn. I might also ask her once more to please find somewhere else to take her dog to defecate. I'm not sure what the police could do except ask her themselves.

i was gonna say scare the crap out of it but...well....
No its true, try to catch the dog doing it in your yard and run out the door banging a pan or something. this is uncomfortable for the dog, and he will find another spot to go.
the added noise may attract the attention of the owner to the problem too. please do not throw the pan at the dog....or the owner.

don't shot the dog b/c the owner is dumb!! some people should not have pets!! i love them and have 4 dogs, but mine are in kennels or on chains!! owner should be more responsible with their pets!!!! i would try the pepper thing! or put up a small inexpensive fence so she can't do this anymore!!

Tell her sternly that the lawn is yours and no dogs are allowed to poo there. Tell the neighbour to let the dog poo at their own house and not yours. The next time she stops by your house, throw the poo to her yard.

Ask her again and if she continues to do it, please call animal control and see what the law is for that. If that doesn't work, call the police. Second suggestion is to clean it up and put in on her front porch in the evening after dark. PRESENTS FOR THE LADY maybe that will get her attention.

Get a HUGE can of ground black pepper and sprinkle it all over that area, wait behind the curtains and watch the hilarity ensue.
