I would like to know detail on HOW God's word makes sence above all else. Besides the fact that its "divine command" why is it better than logical ethics? I can think of many reasons on why I would rather listen to MY heart and not "god's". PROVE ME WRONG! NO circular reasoning please...ex: "Its God's will."

You're asking what makes God's Word the most important Word there is?

If you knew God, you would know. I suggest that you seek him.

I am not being arch. All's I'm saying is that to be capable of asking what makes what God says important, one must not be capable of knowing God. If you knew him, it'd be obvious.

There is no way I know of to convince a person who doesn't know God what makes God more important than human beings. I could suggest that you look at the work and words of human beings to see if any of them will hold true into eternity.

Okay, let's reason this one out. Being a Philosophy major, this is what we do.

Let's start with God. Who is God? Well, let's use the universal term and definition for this and leave all religious opinions outside of it, (so there's no bias).

God would be:

All powerful (omnipotent)
All knowing (omniscient)
All present (omnipresent)
All good
(because if there was evil and corruptness, then there would be unbalance, iniquity, no all good, completely good, pure, holy, part of the universe to balance out the evil in it. Because the level of evil does not determine whether or not something is evil, just the tiniest smudged of evil constitutes as evil. For example, a water gallon: put on little drop of poison in it, and even though proportionally it's an extremely small amount, it's still tainted.)

Just
Righteous
Holy
Supreme being (no equal. In order to be all of the omni-terms, then there can only be one, because only one being can be anywhere at the same time (don't get sidetracked on the trinity issue here)).

Okay, no, let's take this and put it into context. We don't even need the other things, just knowing that God, whoever He may be (in my opinion, Jesus Christ), you have a text, that has lasted thousands of years and still is accurate (look at a comparison between our text and the dead sea scrolls (the oldest document now recording old testament text), and you'll see complete accuracy), from someone that is perfect, knows every single event, past present and future (omnipotent), and all powerful, etc... Now take science books and logic. We are finite creatures that cannot reason out anything beyond our single scope mind. It takes all of our energy to multitask but yet God consciously knows every single event on the top of his mind, everything as clear as the next. We have to pause to think about what we had for breakfast yesterday morning. We are finite and cannot know everything. We barely know that which we already know. There is no logic that can be trusted if it comes from a finite person. That is why there is so much authority invested in the Bible.

Lastly, God, who cannot sin, by definition and by the definition of His character, cannot sin, therefore, he cannot lie. So with this simple truth, we know that whatever God says, is to be truth.

What do you think?

Jesus said that we must love God with all our heart and might. You may want to read about the divine explanations by Jesus and not somebody else's interpretation. If you read what Jesus said, you could agree that what he said was logical and ethical. Sure you can listen to your heart and live a life of relativity, but if your goal is to be with God in this life and after death, why would you do it any differently with God than with any of your friends?
If you want a sense of direction, why not check out both sides. Do you want the side of love and truth, or lies and deception?
To me, the maker knows best how things work, I might as well follow the instructions for best results.

Because God is nothing but complete and pure love. The love that I feel deep within my heart and deep within my soul, is so much grater than any other on the face of this earth. To me evolution is a thought; an idea. God, on the other hand is a feeling; a sense of wholeness that can't come from a thought or an idea. Personally, I would rather feel something than think about something.

Christianity acknowledges that everyone has a conscience. But it is possible to have a poorly formed conscience due to bad experiences or bad teachers. The scriptures are intended to help properly inform one's conscience, although even scripture can be misinterpreted. So even though most people get their ethics right, with or without scripture, it is still a good idea to talk about your ideas and intentions before acting on them, giving other people a chance to correct an underdeveloped notion before it becomes a problem.

Because since God is the creator of all things, then His words are of high status. For example: Some one who studied in one of the top high schools in the U.S. and then went off to one of the bet universities with all types of degrees and diplomas, he invented a machine. That machine obeys The creator and listens to every command, and how the creator Programs it and tells it what to do is very important to the machine, because without orders the machine would be useless, and the Creator is the only One who can program it and tell it what to do, so his words are very important.

Consider anyones own righteousness. We are all flawed individually and by groups. Show me the righteous man? Show me the righteous culture or society? If we count on our own righteousness who's is best and who is the judge? whether or not you agree it is a fact and it shouldn't take too much to figure this one out unless you say there is no absolute good or bad. In which case you are left with a faulty righteousness in which my righteousness is equal to yours and it's every man for himself or you say allow society to determine what is good...Now there are many examples of this going bad. Now what makes God's word important is that he is real and his word is absolute righteousness. God gave man the law knowing man could not be perfect yet God still loved his creation even though man was sinful. God provided a way for man to be forgiven while remaining righteous the plan was for God to come to the world as a man and be tempted as a man and to overcome sin and be tortured and die in our place as an atonement for the sins of those who accept his atonement though Jesus Christ our lord.

If you read the New Testament, you will find many examples of how Christ confounded the intellectuals in the simplest ways, and how he could read their minds. If God's Son can do that, then God must be able to do even more. In my reasoning, that would make God's words the most important - they would beat out all others in knowledge and wisdom.

Actually the bible says He holds His word above His very name. But you ask for proof. I can't give it to you. He can. But you have to do this (this is God speaking to you)....

"come to me, and I will show you great and mighty things, that you know not".

I appreciate that you think there are other things you'd rather listen to. I guess it really comes down to choice. Will you take the time to investigate what God has to say in the bible....or not.
