1) We do not pray TO the saints, Mary, or priests. We pray WITH them in the same way you ask your friends to pray with you or for you.

2) There is no other Christian religion that has not been altered since the beginning of Christianity. All organized Christian religions are a break off of the Catholic church.

3) Oh yes, and about the whole priest molestation...there are more non-clergy related molestations in one month than there are clergy related over the course of 3 years. Priests aren't the only people who molest children. There are corrupt clergy men and women all throughout organized religions that molest children, yes, that means Protestant ministers.

4) Yes, we read the Bible.

I'm not trying to say that Catholics are better than any other religion, I'm just standing up for what I know as truth.

1. The Hail Mary is a prayer to Mary. It is in devotion of Mary, and also asks for her to pray for sinners, as well. So it's technically a prayer to her asking her to pray for you.

2. Not all organized Christian religions are a break off of the Catholic church. That's very arrogant of you to say that. MOST Christian religions you encounter in the western world are derived from Catholicism, but not all of them by any means.

3. Giving money to the Catholic church does support molestation by priests. It gives the archdiocese money to cover up victims and merely move the priests to other parishes. That means your contributions that were supposed to go to the poor are actually covering up sins. That's sad. And blaming another religion for your own religion's mistakes is even more sad.

5. No you don't, and neither do any other Christian denominations. You read parts of the Bible -- the nice parts -- and ignore the rest.

Yes, but we want to know why you protect molesting priests and not molesting "commoners!"

If a Priest is allowed to be gay and still be a priest the average "catholic" should be allowed to be gay and still be a catholic!

In otherwords, Catholics need to CLEARLY define thier views on Gays.

If gays are bad, ALL GAY PRIESTS should be removed instantly and even excommunicated!

Same should apply to those in the pews!

Right now the Priest would allegedly did things to Foley is retired on an island and gives Mass now and then.

Why is that!

He should be at least put into abayance until a hearing is held.

Why is this person FREELY allowed to work!

If so, then ALL GAYS should freely be allowed to attend CATHOLIC CHURCH until convicted!

But that is NOT reality, is it!

These inconsitances bug us!

It looks like CAtholics are OPPOSED to gays, UNLESS THEY ARE PRIESTS in which case it don't matter!

That is a terrible inconsitancy!

Yes it is true it happens outside of the PRIEST HOOD, but the PRIEST HOOD is supposed to be ABOVE AND BEYOND THIS!

The fact remains there is a shortage of Priests and the Catholic uppers are hesitant to DIVEST themselves of "questionable" Priests and that is an inconstnacy.

The Protestants got rid of Haggard, ONE TWO THREE and HE FOUNDED THAT CHURCH

There was no issue

Outted on Friday and OUSTED on Monday!

That's how FAST the Protestants are!

Now, this Priest who "did" Foley is STILL PRACTISTING weeks after Foley OUTED HIM

The reason is simply, you can't go up against the POPE

Protestants can give a hoot about Haggard or any other. Yu do wrong, your out. Instantly!

You might be able to WORK your way back eventually, but for the here are now you're OUT

Friday you get taken out of the closet and Monday you are OUT OF OFFICE.

It's that' simple.

Now, start showing us Catholic Justice!

Remember, the boys who get molested COULD BE YOUR CHILDREN!

HAVE YOU BEEN FULLY BRIEFED ON THE SEXUALALITY OF YOUR PREIST!

1. The "saints" and Mary are dead. How do you know they are praying when you are (if you pray with them)? If they are in heaven can you contact them without bowing in prayer. My mother in law used to pray to some saint to help her find lost things.

2. Paul didn't go to the Catholic Church of Ephesus. He went to the Church of Ephesus. Peter would never have prayed to Mary or any Priest. Peter would have told you that you could go directly to Jesus Christ in prayer. Christ taught them to pray, Our Father......etc. not hail Mary.

3. The Pope, Priests, Pastors. They are all human. Sinners. The Bible says there is none righteous, no not one.

4. I don't know many Catholics who even own a Bible. I work with several Catholics who think the Bible says, Eve ate an apple. When I told them to prove it, none of them could bring in a Bible to show me. We pulled up a Bible online, so I could show them. Catholics are taught in Catholic Schools that the Bible has mistakes and should be taken lightly. I've heard that right from a teacher at a Catholic school.

I'm really not trying to hurt your feelings, but there are some things about the Catholic Church that just aren't right. Where I live, many Catholics are looking for miracles from a dead priest so they can call him a saint. If you really care, or are searching, talk to a Priest, then talk to a Pastor. There is a book written by a former Catholic, Hunt, I think his name is. Do some homework.:)

God Bless

Do you realize that what the Catholics call a Bible is not what the rest of the world considers the Bible as inspired by God? Why have Catholics added so much ritual and so many rules that aren't in the Bible? Why say Hail Mary, when Jesus is the only one you should Hail? It sure sounds like Catholics pray to Mary instead of Jesus???

If all other Christian religions are break aways from the Catholic church, doesn't that prove that the Catholic church has been altered? And the fact that the Catholic church no longer believes that the earth is the center of the universe, doesn't show that the Catholic church has been altered? The Catholic church is no different then any other church in that it changes constantly to adapt to current knowledge, and if it didn't, it would stagnate and die.

2. What about the split with Eastern Orthodoxy? Also, what about the Copts? Otherwise, I agree with your point. Protestantism came from Catholicism, and they should know this! I can't believe that such hatred still exists, especially since the conflict ended 500 years ago when Lutheranism started!

What annoys me about Catholic misconceptions is that Protestants will say Catholics are Pagans! As a Pagan, I find that annoying as our beliefs differ way more than Catholics and Protestants! I'm sure you aren't too happy with the comparison either.

I agree with most. And proud that you know what makes you followers of Christ.

1) I know what the catechism says, and you are correct. There are some groups of people who call themselves catholic, that pray to saints for specifics. (but no denomenation has 100% of people following 100% of the rules)

2) The phrase altered, a poor word, purgatory has come and gone from doctrine, selling of ?????? (I forgot the word) to get into heaven. and so on. how about - tracing lineage back to Peter (Who never was Pope)

Overall Good question

Well thank you for that. I'm not Catholic, so I dont neccesarily agree w/ your beliefs.. . but im sad when protestants flip out about Catholocism and whatnot. But, the one thing, Protestentism is not really a break off of Catholosism. The first protestants decided they didn't like Catholocism, and kinda started over. . We do share billions (okay, maybe thirty, or 6) of the same beliefs however. Like that God sent his son Jesus Christ to be our Messiah and save us from our sins!! Why can't we all just get along. . .ha ha, but thanks for writing that cuz, ppl do say that about Catholics, and they are wrong :(.
