Well I don't know you personally, so I wouldn't have known but, I look at the verses I quote from also, otherwise I might quote the wrong verse and that would not make sense,it is a good thing to check out what the Bible says, since it is the only truth there is as it Comes straight fom God it is his means of talking to us and teaching us the truth, isn't it so sad that many peole judge it as unworthy for their consideration without ever looking into it at all!
The Bible is the most trustworthy and accurate way to get to the truth there is and it was the inspired word of the most high God the supreme Beingof all the universe, yes I try to read all quoted scriptures in answers and questions, to verify the statements posted, and if I use the Bible to quotein my answers it is only after refering to those quoted scriptures first, it is only after I do so that I actually post my answer, but then unlike you I do not put myself above other people I try to put what I learn from the Bible and as it says in Proverba3:7not to become wise in our own eyes, and judge others, also I put into practice the Bibles advice to be peacable with all,(Romans12:18) Peace to you

Good for you and speaking the truth of what you read, and not editorilizing

bad for you for saying people are simple minded as a generalization

i've read it, and it's not so holy. i mean, it's quite violent and offensive. i mean, look here:

No one whose testicles have been crushed or whose penis has been cut off may be admitted into the community of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 23:2 NAB)

moral: god is against crippled people

How about:
Give no woman power over you to trample upon your dignity. (Sirach 9:2 NAB)

moral: women are unequal to men

So are you saying that women are unequal? that the crippled are cursed? tell me how your good book is really that good?

i've read it 3 times, and it is among one of the most violent and detestable reads in my life.

that's good you do know that the "holy book" has been rewritten so many times that most of the thing in there are wrong we do not need more people messing it up

Did you know that pride is one of the 7 most dangerous sins?

The point you're missing is that it doesn't MATTER to us if it's in a 'holy' book or a fairy tale book. Either way, it's still fiction.
