Can I say ikebanado?

Why is it sado and shodo, but ikebana is just ikebana?

"Do" (道） means "the way" sado is "the way of tea" and "shado" is "the way of writing". "Ikebana" means living flower and "the way of the living flower" just isn't said. If you want to use a "way" for that art, you should say "kado" which means "the way of the flower."
