He's the God of The Bible. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are sometimes referred to as the three Abrahamic faiths, since all three consider Abraham to be the first prophet (or at least, after Adam?).

In some of my posts I say the God of Abraham to make it clear that just saying "God" is ambiguous. Humans have believed in lots of gods, and to this day, some people think everyone means the same god when they say God, but actually people have different meanings.

Abraham The father of the Jewish people in many respects. Yahweh or the God I am is the god of Abraham. The reason this is significant is that God made Abraham a covenant that his sons would inherit the kingdom of God. Christians also believe strongly in Abraham a Jesus id before Abraham was I am. That God could bring forth children of the promise from a rock and Jesus wa that rock of salvation for the Gentiles. Now many years later Muhammad came along about 600 give or take. Muhammad believed in the Torah and the bible but considered himself to be a prophet. Muhammad claimed the names of other prophets in his religion which he meant to be in agreement with the true prophets of God however he made mistakes even though the Quran taught Muslims to believe in these teaching Muslims found these holy books were not in agreement with their Quran thus they called the word of God corrupt but continue to teach Abraham while denying the scriptures where they learned of him.

God is the God of the bible. Christians and Jews share the Old Testament portion of the bible. The Christians also have the New Testament portion of the bible.

Abraham was the first Hebrew. God called him out of his country (UR of Chaldeans) and made a covenant (a binding promise) to him. The promise was for descendants and for land. That's where the term "promised land' comes from.

Abraham and his wife Sarah at the time of God's promise did not have children. They got impatient to have children because they were getting older and so they came up with a plan for Sarah to give her maid Hagar to Abraham to be a "surrogate" mother for Sarah. So through Abraham and Hagar came a son Ishmael. It is from Ishmael that the Islamic/Muslim faiths come.

God stuck with His plan and promise to Abraham and after he and Sarah were way too old to conceive children,Sarah conceived and bore the son of the promise Isaac. God continued His promise through Isaac and His son Jacob who was the father of 12 sons who made up the 12 tribes of Israel.

Abraham was a person writing about in the Torah (and therefore the Bible also since the Torah is in the Bible). he believe in God and God made his descendants like the sand by the sea. very numerous.

so some people will say, the God of Abraham, of Jacob and of Isaac. the reason why is because there have always been lots of idol worship and false gods. so this was to clarify which God. those 3 men were men of the Bible. it would be like me saying i believe in the God of Jesus, Moses. because if i were to say i believe in God. well then they would ask are you Jewish, Christian, Islam, Budda, Hindu, Bahalah.

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all monotheistic religions that start off with Abraham and the God he believed existed.

abram, later named abraham, had two son's which were destined to become great peoples, the israelites and the arabs. since they are of the same father, they would have the same god. read genesis for specific information. remember, i said read, not believe. the israelites founded the jewish religion. mohahmmed, a warrior leader in the seventh century, was the founder of the islamic religion. christianity, at first considered a branch of judaism, became a religion on its own merits when, the early followers were organized under rules not in line with judaic laws which were set aside by the most prolific leader, paul. while some resistance was met from other members of the early christian leaders it was eventually decided to eliminate the majority of judaic laws and determine their own over several centuroies.

Abraham is the man who, in the Old Testament, God promised to begin the nation of Israel through. It was through his son, Isaac, that Jacob was born, and through Jacob's twelve sons the twelve tribes of Israel came about. Then, when time had progressed awhile, Jesus came to tell those tribes about God, and how they could truly know Him through Christ Jesus. Thus, Christianity came about from the people who followed Jesus. Of course, this is a rough overview. If you have time to read through the Bible, then please do. However, if not, then look in Genesis 12, and flip through the next few chapters. God bless!

This was just a name given by the followers of prophet Abrahim to the God. In actual fact, there is only one and only God, Almighty (don't be confused regarding the name , God had 99 names) Inregardless of any God's religions , we are obligated to believe (but not worship) in the sayings and actions of all the prophets of God.

Abraham had sons by different wives and in a nutshell, each son started a new line of people. One son fathered the Arabs and the other fathered the Jews.
