What you are asking is very risky the penicillan that you inject to a dog is basically for cows and pigs. It can be given to dogs but they can have an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. It depends on the kind of penicillan you have and whether it is intramuscular or under the skin, if you do not know these things then it is best not to do it. Twin-pen is for under the skin and there is another that is intramuscular.
I do this to my dogs if they need it but i went to my vet and asked them how to break it down for dogs, I also do not give intramuscular as it hurts them too bad, and also i do not recommend you doing it as it is risky so I am not going to tell you how to do it as i do not want to be responsible for possibly killing your dog.
GO to the vet for antibiotics and get their expert opinion on what you want to do, they can show you and tell you how if they think it is a good idea for you to inject your dog with livestock antibiotics. Vets very seldom give penicillan for dogs anymore as they can have a very bad adverse reaction. You can go to drfosterandsmith website and order the correct antibiotics in a pill form that is safe to give your dog

You need to check the directions, or better yet just call the vet. It's hard to overdose on antibiotics, but my puppy recently needed a dose of penicillan and according to the vet the first dose was 2 cc's the first time, and after that was 1cc two times a day. My puppy weighs 5 pounds, so if you double it than you should have the correct dose for your dog. I know other's will dissaprove of my giving you suggestions but I would much rather tell you how much to give then have the dog given way too much.

You need to call a vet! it's one thing to give medical treatment to your animal if you know what your doing but I am assuming since you don't know how much or where to put the needle,A vet did not prescribe this medicine? If you have a Jack Russell you've already invested a chunk of change why not get it treated by a vet?If you got the medicine from a pet store or a feed store there should be dosage directions on the label.

Why are you giving your dog penicillan? You should take him to the vet and let them do it. It is a simple formula, but i would let them figure it out.

Unless you are a vet, you have no business giving your JR ANY shot for any illness. How do you know that is what he needs?
What is wrong with him? GO to the vet and let him diagnose and treat the JR.

I agree, you should NEVER give your animal medications that you don't know how to administer or were told to give them by a vet. Giving an animal antibiotics can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Call your vet!!

If you're not a registered veterinarian and you don't know your stuff you could be risking serious injury to the dog. I suggest get it to a vet and if you can't afford that then maybe you shouldn't have a dog.
