Where is God when it hurts.
This is one of those awful situations, why do bad things happen, why does God allow sufferring?
I don't exactly know the answer, but I do know that God wants you to rely on him to get through it, because he can bring healing and wholeness, I know this as first hand experience, I was going to walk away from God and not look back and he gently showed me he loved me and had a better plan.
Faith is believing the what God has revealed trusting him, with out outside influence.
Trust God he loves you and your friend who suicided. I am so sorry for your loss and that it still causes you pain.
Cast all your cares on God, for he cares for you. Allow him to heal you.
You are so special and God has a plan and purpose for your life.

If there is a God and he created nature. Then nature was made with a purpose and balance. If you look at nature alone, animals, weather, and natural disasters, there is both good and bad in it. However you also have to look at why it's happening and if there is a purpose behind it. I'm just gonna be simple about it and give an example of animal life. You have this beautiful cougar hunting through the woods looking for pray. It spots a deer with it's baby doe and starts in for the kill. By the time the mother deer notices the cougar it's to late, the only thing she can do is stand in the way of her doe giving it time to get away. Now the sad part here is the mother deer dies and her doe will probably now die as well. However the cougar will now live another day and the food might have gone to it's young. So purpose and balance.
If you don't believe in God then just refer to the nature bits leaving out God. Also suffering and evil is not all man's doing some times it's just natures way. However a lot of suffering and evil is man's fault. Because our presents greatly effects the world we live in. The way we treat earth can cause natural disasters.
So as much as I feel for loss and suffering I also understand that is the way life is. God or not.

The earth is an active living thing.. it is in constant flux.. at this present time there is a division line in Africa.. indicating the continent is separating. Gradually, but measurably each year. This process has been ongoing from the beginning and will continue.
All these earth changes should have nothing to do with your faith, as they are part of our global activities. It is unfortunate that some people are in the active area when these things occur. Non the less, it has been said many times... "There is a time to plant and a time to harvest.. a time to live and a time to die".... we just don't know when that time is to be. Nor under what circumstances.

When God created the earth, He called it good.
Genesis 1:31
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good...
At the start, everything was good in God's eyes! However, as soon as mankind sinned, then things began to go downhill. But when I say that, I don't mean only suffering and disease. The whole earth, in fact, began to decline. Death is the result of sin, and death completely changed the entire world. Even the earth itself began to slide gradually downhill, resulting in things like natural disasters, ect. So, yes. If one must blame someone for natural disasters, suffering, ect., it is man's fault! It is unfortunate about your friend. It would be great if we did not have to suffer these things. However, God is in control, and natural disasters are not out of His power. He can and does use them for His purposes. God is ultimately responsible, but that does not mean He is to blame. I hope that this might help you, God bless!
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God created and caused all things. No matter what you can always lay the blame on him, you could do that for just about darn anything. But really the earthquake was caused by plate techtonics. You could blame the plates, or the earth itself for shaking too much, but what is the point of that? It wasn't like god woke up one morning and said "Hmm let's have an earthquake today."

Good persepective!
Where does earthquakes come from? Why are they caused? I guess if an old tree killed me it would be no one's fault really. Just as the grounds move and the water waves.
Now if we had all the answers could earth have been made without movement? I would think not. Actions and reactions I suppose.
I have alwys wondered if oil taken from earth helps lubercate the plates?

Everyone needed to see the Orpah show last Friday when a Marine who survived a suicide bomber and underwent dozens of surgeries looks like, well, no offense intended, a freak and his girl friend married him as is because she married the man not the body.
That's heavy.
YOu had to see this guy to fully understand it all.

We must take actions for all mistakes. Natural disaster are unavoidable. When God created it nature he created laws of nature, in which he will not intervene, because if he intervene once he will have to do it all the time, which would void the laws of nature.

Muslims and Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, All the Major religions believe this. All bad comes from Men, may that be our precept ions, actions, or outlooks. Is the glass half empty of full, someone dying, is that bad if they are going to Heaven? Or is it just bad to you because "you" were not ready for him to go.
What if he didn't experience pain. We all will die, and go to our true home, and we leave a different times. that's not bad, in fact I wouldn't mind dying to go to Paradise.
Positive or Negative thoughts: Your choice. The Human Choice.

pretty depressing huh?
not all faiths view things quite the same--search for what your heart AND mind tells you is true.
You can believe in the God but not all the B.S.
