Honestly, if people look, they will get govt. assistance.....I work in the family courts system and there is help for people, they just don't seek it or are not aware it exists.....

That's a really good question. I think the main problem is sheer greed. People are frigging greedy. Corruption within the governments, within major non-profit organizations, within CHURCHES and HOSPITALS is rampant. The moneys, food, clothing, etc. that are donated don't go where they need to go. I've seen, FIRST-HAND, donations to the poor and homeless go directly into the pockets ( or more often, back seats and trunks of automobiles) of people that were employed to hand them out; I've seen people ordering merchandise for their own use, with NO THOUGHT about the people they are stealing it from ( and it IS stealing, plain and simple); and I am talking about some of the BIGGEST non-profits in the world. It's sickening, but it happens. This is in America alone. I can't imagine how many middle men are peeling off a chunk from donations before it reaches its final destination- if it ever does.

That's a great question, really, it has a lot to do with corruption, fraud, and foreign influence, in my view. Hopefully, this Congress will address that one directly, and start booting people out of Washington who keep trying to wrench around our budget and legal system. The United States is 8.5 trillion in the red. It's reform time...

I've been saying for years that our government needs to get back to taking care of "WE THE PEOPLE" and let the rest of the world figure out their own problems. At least until we are back to full strength, if not longer.

You never know when you will need an allie. Even if they have no monetary value to offer, the land, air or sea around them could be very useful one day.

Damned if I know. As far as I'm concerned, I'd love to end all foreign aid for a while and take care of our own country first.

I have been asking myself that same question for at least 20 years. If you find an answer, let me know!
