Use medicated chapstick about 4 times a day for two weeks.
You have to be patient with it while it heals!

Chapstick makes a really good medicated chapstick and then there are a lot of intense lip therapy treatments. But the best thing I've found is a product by Mary Kay. It's a lip buffer and mask that is amazing. I have dry lips pretty much year round and really dry and sometimes cracked lips in the winter and this is the only thing I've found that works for longer than just an hour or whatever. I think you can go to marykay.com and order it.

If you truly are looking for quick relief of chapped lips, Carmex may work, but over a period of time, the camphor contained in this product, and those similar to it actually have further drying effects, because that is helpful for it's intended treatment of cold sores. If you are looking for a remedy to actually treat and prevent cracked lips, take a warm, wet cloth, and apply it to your mouth for about 2 minutes so that you can replenish the water content in the skin of your lips. Immediately after, apply pure lanolin to your lips, as it is very thick and allows your skin to retain moisture extremely well. Lanolin is not drying, and it is used in smaller quantities in many other types of lip moisturizers. If you don't like the feel of thick Lanolin however, Aquaphor will be your next best bet Just remember to use the wet towel to hydrate your lips first--this makes the healing process much faster because broken skin heals faster when it has some moisture. Hope this helps!

Palmer's Coco Butter formula and then Vaseline. Rub the butter in on your lips for 1 minute. Blot with a soft tissue, then use vaseline to protect. Depending on the severity of the cracks, after several applications, the emollients in the butter will make your lips soft and silky sooth and will contribute to the healing of the cracks. Preventive measures require using the butter each night before bed without the Vaseline. The petroleum jelly is like the bandaid to cover the lips when you go out into the harsh elements.

quick fix = Rub a little Aquaphor Healing Ointment onto your lips several times a day and before bed.
To maintain soft lips with no cracks: Take a B-complex vitamin once every other day with a meal and drink lots of water.
Eat olive oil - in salads, on bread instead of butter, use it for cooking & frying instead of regular cooking oil.
Eat fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines, or herring. Your lips and skin in general will be soft, smooth and flawless.

Go to CVS there should be a white lipbalm with a baby blue wrapper with a health sign on it. It has an akward smell but it'll clear your lips right up, lay off the lipgloss, and lipstick for a bit, that causes more chap, trust me i have chapped lips in the winter sometimes and in the summer, but that'll help. Alright, lemme let u in on a secret, you can wear lipgloss when ur lips are chapped :) it says on the bottle, do not use if lipps are chapped.

Drink plenty of water! Its a must. Avoid licking your lips and apply a lip balm( or even butter) during the day and dab on a bit of vaseline before you go to sleep at night. You could also carry a small tube of vaseline with you wherever you go so you could moisten your lips when you need to.

Be careful with medicated ChapStick. The menthol and other additives may end up drying out your lips, especially with frequent use. Take a little time and visit a natural/organic store (i.e. whole foods) and see if they have a natural balm. They really help, you can apply them as often as needed and they are affordable to boot.
If you're feeling especially creative... Search for some home remedies and create your own custom balm. It's well worth the effort.

Blistex, Carmex or Savex are all great. they contain a 'medicated' quality that seems to heal lips quickly and alleviate the pain. Vaseline can work but for chapped lips, cold sores or that cracking in the corners of your mouth from the wind, try one of the three mentioned items.
