Put a rubber band around the edge of the lid to improve your grip. Best choice to use if jar is new. If you get something hardened under the lid it can still work, but you may want to try tapping the lid on the counter, or running it under warm water in this case as well.

Easy way to open.
Take a knife anything with a thick handle, and bang the handle 5 or 6 times on the edge of the top of the jar, so that you make little dents in it. Do it 2 0r 3 times on each side.
That will make it MUCH easier to open.

stick a butter knife under the rim and "pop" the seal open by pulling the handle away from the jar while the part in the rim goes towards the jar. hard to explain, but it works. or bang the rim on the counter and go all around the jar.

First get water REALLY hot. Then run it over JUST the lid (while holding the jar onits side). Should open right up.

Keep one of those rubber grip things in your junk drawer. They are designed for opening hard to open bottles and jars. You can get them at the DOLLAR STORE or the grocery store.

Take a butter knife and tap gently all around the lid. This should loosen the lid a little while you open it. Repeat if necessary...Good Luck and Good Health

Run it under very hot water for a few minutes and then use a towel to get a better grip and it should come off.

A rubber band around the cap always works for me! ;-) This trick should work with any jar.

Find a strong man or use an old shirt as a grip. If the cap is small enough or if you have a big enough wrench, you could use that.
