Bound's hubby here:

Actually, Annie Oakley was an excellent shot ... she earned the title of "L'il Miss Sure Shot"! For her time, she was an outstanding Markswoman. She was probably an inspiration to women such as Alice Bull.

The thing I remember the most about Annie Oakley was from a bio I read about her. She had a brace of .22LR rifles and a guy throwing 1/2 inch square blocks up in the air. She would shoot them with that little lever action .22 before they hit the ground. When the weapon emptied, she'd pick up another one. She had enough rifles, apparently, that she was able to shoot over two hundred of those blocks without missing one. I'd say that's pretty accurate. She used to ride in the Carnival Circuit with Cody and the others, doing trick shots.

Annie Oakley's success rate is still unrivaled today ,,,, Her percentage rate was phenomenal ,,,, There have been people who have gotten in the same ball park she was in so to speak but she's never been out classed by anyone so far ,,,,

I saw a documentary on her on the History Channel, and let's just say, you wouldn't want to make her mad.
