The bus ride is just like school grounds. Vulgarity and bullying shouldnt be on the bus or at school. You were right for taking her off. However, if you cant do that for the next 12 years, you need to do something. My question is.. what is the driver and volunteer doing about it? That is their job to keep the children safe. Could your daughter sit closer to the driver or volunteer? Is there another bus that she could take? Could you drive her to a different bus stop and drop her there to take a different bus? First, call the school.. tell them. This is NOT acceptable. If they dont fix it, go to the superintendent. Tell them. IF they dont fix it.. the school board. And so on.... make sure that with all of this, that you are talking to your daughter and telling her what you are doing to "fight" to keep her safe. Tell her that this is WRONG behavior and that they will be punished. Keep fighting and dont five up! this is her first years in school.. Make them safe and pleasant so that they later years go smoother! What a great dad! Keep it up! Good Luck!

What's the volunteer on the bus for?? Call the school board if the principal at the school won't help. Kids should be safe on the bus and should not have to listen to foul language either. Ask them to get a different moniter if the volunteer isn't going to help.

Contact the Bus Company and the principal first. If the problem continues call the Superintendent of the school and the school board and file a complaint.
When you call keep notes of when you called and who you spoke with.

Seriously, the single most effective thing to do is have your lawyer send the school a certified letter. You r child is their responsibility while she is there, even on the bus. If she's being physically or verbally abused, they are liable. The school does NOT want to have to go to court or pay a lawsuit. If your attorney sends them a letter, they will know you're serious and will make sure to remove the offending elder children.
And please make sure your child knows it's not her fault and that she needs to report to you or the bus driver EVERY time the hitting or cursing starts.

If assistant principal can't/won't help, go to the principal. Explain that if the abuse doesn't stop you have no problem going to the authorities to make a complaint against the school and the bullies' parents. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper. Normally I wouldn't promote "making a stink", but it's hard enough being a kid. Don't go to the extreme measures until you know the school won't put a stop to it.

This angers me. Those kids need to be taught a lesson. If it were my daughter, I'd call the police. Get them involved. The school won't do their job, let's see how they handle it when the police come to the school. I wish you and your daughter the best of luck and I feel bad for her and I hope that this advise helps you out.

I would talk to her Kdgn teacher and arrange for her to carpool there with another mom if you can not drive her. It is your responsibility to protect your child and 6 is not old enough to ride a public school bus.
