Yes, she will get used to it, you can consider getting her a playmate, but it is certainly not necessary as long as you give her tons of loves when you get home and make sure she has the food, water, toys, scratching post and CLEAN litter box that she needs.

Kittens usually don't leave their Mother's until they are at least 12 weeks old, so I'm surprised you were able to get a kitten that young. However, I got my kitten when she was 12 weeks old, & I also work full time & have left her alone, with no problems. Kitties sleep most of the day anyway. As long as you leave dry food out & plenty of water, she should be fine. (Also, kitten proof the house, too.) When you're home she'll need a lot of attention, especially play time, as kittens that don't get enough play time can get aggressive. Would it be possible for you to get her a friend? I hear that young kittens do much better if they have another kitten at home to play with. I didn't though, & my girl does fine. Good luck with your new kitty..she must be really cute!

Although cats are independent creatures, I really think she is too young to be on her own for that long. When she is older she'll be fine with it but I think she needs more attention at this young age. She really should not have left her birth family until at least 8 weeks and it is not natural for such a young kitten to be entirely alone for so long at only 7 weeks old. I would suggest at least trying to get home at lunchtime for a couple of weeks, but there's no need to give her away as long as you think you will be able to care for her and love her for the rest of her life. Being out all day will not be a problem when she is a little older, as long as she is able to get in and out freely. Good luck!

Well....its not exactly the best owner-pet bonding situation with your work schedule. Be sure to kitten-proof your home from things that she could get into. Be sure to offer her a quality canned food...just a spoonful... as a treat twice a day. This will help her bond to you. Leave dry food out. I'm assuming that you mean the kitten uses the litter box OK....and not the toilet, right? Its pretty natural for them to use litter. Clean it daily. Cats are wonderful pets if they bond well with you. If they don't associate you with feeding, cleaning, and affection.... they will become too "independent" and offer little pet value to you.

As long as you set aside at least half an hour a day to play or groom or just "connect" with your kitty, I think your kitty will be fine. Most cats sleep during the day and are active at night. So, you need to get kitty some toys and maybe a cat window perch or cat tree so kitty can look at all the interesting things that go on outside the window.

Yea, our kitten did get used to it. She won't always be a baby either. If you're that worried, you might want to consider getting her a playmate, that way, she has something to do all day while you're gone, and can still go bananas when she sees you at night.

Even if you don't cats are very independent, leave her some toys to play with and she'll be fine.

I would suggest getting another kitten for her to bond with given the time you are away.

She will eventually become very bored and do strange things.

If she becomes and indoor/outdoor cat, then it will better for her, but in doors forget it.

It depends on her nature if she can be alone. The time you are away is a very long time for her at her age. They need more attention than you can give her. Please consider a companion and don't wait until she is older than 3 months then it will become more difficult to introduce her to another kitten.

It will help both of you in the long run.

she should be fine. when you get home, it's great to give her attention but don't carry her around until bed, kittens at that age tend to eat lots of little meals so make sure if she's with you she has food access about once every 1/2 hour. when she starts to play lots leave creative toys around for her.

yes, if possible you may want to consider getting another cat. If you're going to get one I reccomend getting one now before they're old enough to really fight. however, if you don't want to deal with that for money or space reasons, she'll be fine.

First of all, a kitten should not be weaned completely until it is 8 weeks old. Since it was taken away from its mother prematurely, it is bound to have formed a strong attachment to you.

Secondly, why will you have to give her away if all she did was be happy to see you? I am gone for several hours every day, and my cat (unless she is asleep) is always ecstatic when I get home. If your cat is very lovey, she will never get used to it--however, cats are self-sufficient and she will find ways to entertain herself while you're gone.

Cats are very independent & do MUCH better than dogs when left alone. Just be sure to spend some time with her in the evening to help her feel secure & bond with you.
Don't forget get get her fixed & vaccinated!!!!
