I disagree, to be heard is to be taken seriously. To be heard means people understand your explanation and are taking it under consideration. More like people "hearing" a spouse, are they really listening, are they really being heard or are they just speaking to dead air?

I supose it can be true in some cases. Although personally I do try to take everyone seriously, cause you can't see the look on their face that usually gives the serious or not answer away.

Yes, and religion is the perfect place to put that question, next to politics. People's opinions vary greatly, and here you will find many do not take others seriously.
