I plan on doing some travelling within the next few years. How much does one cost, where can I get one, and how long until you have to renew it?

A US passport costs $97. Passports are good for 10 years if you're over 16. Many post offices do accept passport applications. You can down load the application and find all the requirements and where to apply at the State Dept site: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

I think they cost about $125 and are good for ten years. Our post office recently had passport day, where you could sign up there. Check with your P.O. or call a local travel agent. They should be able to help.
