YES! YES! YES!
AS SOMEONE WHO JUST WENT THROUGH THIS ... YES!!!!
YOU DON'T WANT TO GET A VERY SERIOUS INFECTION !!!
Also, I don't know where you live, but be prepared that you may have to show proof of vaccinations to animal control ... don't worry, it's merely a formality ... if you don't have the papers on hand, your vet does.

Just keep it extremely clean, use peroxide, alcohol, iodine whatever you have available to clean it several times a day. Also keep an antibacterial ointment such as neosporin on it all the time and keep it bandaged up. If it seems to get infected then see a doctor, but I wouldn't worry about it too much especially since that cat is yours and I am sure you know about it's rabies shots and such. I've been bitten by my dogs several times before and the brought he blood and I never had to get a shot...if it was a stray animal and you weren't sure of it's shots etc. then I you might want to get one, if you're still not sure about it, then just give your doctor or local ER a call and see what they think about it. Good Luck.

If you are not up to date on your tetanus then yes you have to go. Also wash the area very well with an antibacterial soap, if the area is closed up you will have to reopen to allow to wound to seep. Then spray the area well with hydrogen peroxide. This is what the vet does to anyone that gets bit at work. If there is any swelling it is best advised to go to the doctor and get some antibiotics. Cat bites can become serious infections if not treated properly since cats have a ton of bacteria in their mouth and saliva. Hope all goes well.

You deffinaetly need to go to the doctor, i'm not sure if you need a tetanus shot, but you will probably need antibiotics. Cat bites are VERY bad! The bacteria in their mouth can cause serious infections. Cat bites are much worse than dog bites when it comes to causing infections.

You will need to go to the doctor's. Cat bites are very dirty and can cause major infections. I was bitten by a cat and had to stay in the hospital for three days getting an iv treatments. The infection can be so bad that a hand specialist may need to be involved.

If your cat has had her/his shots, you don't need to worry I think. I get cat scratches and bites (little nips that draw blood) many many many times - usually when cat plays a bit rough. I just pour or smear antiseptic on the wounds right away and I am OK.
If the cat was feral, then maybe a bite is a concern.

If it bit you on the hand, or somewhere with more skin and bone than flesh, wash the area well with alcohol and peroxide, and try to keep it as clean as possible. If you notice any swelling or redness, you may have to go to the doctor. If your cat bit your arm or leg, or somewhere flesh where the teeth punctured deep into you, there is a better chance of infection and it will be harder to see, so definitely go to a doctor.

I'm not a big going to the Dr. person, but I had taken someone to the Dr. & had bitten by my cat that day. I asked him about it & he said if it broke the skin & your tetanus is out of date (over 10 yrs since your last one) that you really need to get one, so I'd say yes.

My first cat left a 12" inch gash down my leg & my current cat has left deep bites and scratches. What I use as my first aid kit: Antiseptic mouthwash, medicated chapstick and gauze. Don't forget to change bandages daily.
If you're still not sure with all the advice you are getting, see your doctor.

No. I've been bitten by cat's several times before, and I've never had to get a shot. Just pour some peroxide over it to kill germs. I agree with what sam said, tetnas shots are usually if for like if you step on a rusty nail. If it gets infected go to the doctor, but otherwise i think it will be fine.
