Laltey, for the past few weeks, I've been unable to sit or lay in one position for very long without getting terrible soreness in both sides of my buttocks. The pain is becoming more and more intense over the past couple days and it has gotten to the point where I can no longer sit at all. I've tried propping myself with pillows and the like, but any relief is only temporary and the pain returns after a few minutes.

I'm only 19 years old, I'm skinny, and even though I don't get as much excercise as I should, I still get some. But since I'm going to school, then coming homing and laying on a couch while I watch TV or read or do schoolwork, I'm sitting or laying with my back propped up for a large portion of the day, and sometimes for hours on end.

Does anyone know what is causing this pain and soreness, or how to alleviate it?

Had to laugh at your expense, but I guess I owe you a serious answer. One idea is that you could have overstreched your bum muscles (glutes) from lifting too many weights such as squats. Did you help someone move recently and have to squat a lot?

Another idea is that you shoveled and twisted. This is the kind of action like shoveling snow. Lifting something heavy and twisting will hurt your bum/back muscles.

I seriously had this pain while working in a foundry and went to massage therapist to get it worked out. It still bothers me from time to time. Go get it properly scanned if the pain continues.

Seriously ignore the losers and their gay jokes... they think they are being funny. You probably need a donut cushion to sit on... but you might get teased at school if you bring a cushion to school :(

But I'd say a big problem is to do with literally sitting on your butt all day... I know it is hard being at school and everything. After school you should try and move around. Even if it is just for a brisk walk. Good luck to you and please see a doctor if it doesn't get better.

maybe your bones are sticking out of the skinny bottom? Are your other bones sore? Ask for help at the school clinic. Maybe your are lacking a vitamin or getting carpul tunnel of the rear end??!! That is what doctors are for - to find out what ails you. Go.

I'm sorry to say that perhaps Dirk Diggler may be closest to the truth and deserve most honest answer, perchance not best. The other option is that you may have a compromised coccyx ( a bone near or at the tail) Either way... enjoy your visit.

You may just be too skinny. Lift weights and do squats to get some padding on your rear.

your butt is probably sore because a raccoon climbed inside of you while you were sleeping and is going to hibernate in the warm environment.
