i need to analyze the quote and explain how it relates to the theme of appearance vs reality in Macbeth. please help!!

That's an easy one...she keeps thinking that there is blood on her dress and she can't get the stain out, but the blood is not really there. To an outsider, no one would know that she was a murderer (appearance) but the reality is that she is guilty.

She imagines the blood on her HAND. The blood was really there when she helped Macbeth kill the king but when that happened and he paniced about the blood on their hands she said see, a little water gets rid of it. When she imagines it no amount of rubbing it erases it or makes it clean again.
