Not necessarily. It depends on why he's on them. If he's just depressed, then no big deal. You should worry if he has something like Bi-Polar disorder or Schizophrenia. Find out what he's taking them for, then do a little research. He's probably fine, though. Good Luck!

nope. antidepressants seem to be handed out like candy. you should only be concerned if you see something that isn't right. if he starts to withdraw from you, or starts behaving oddly. THEN, talk to him about it. it will help him loads!
if he has a serious depression, then the meds should help anyway. the only thing to look out for is in some people, antidepressants increase some depressive behavior such as being suicidal.
but on the most part, just pretend everything is as it was, because it will help him a lot more than askin him "are you ok?" all the time.

No you should not be worried. My wife is also on antidepressents and all i do is give her love and support which coupled with the drugs help.
I even helped her to come off them later by turning her negative thoughts into possitive ones by talking to her about her thoughts and issues with life.
I hope this helps and wish your boyfriend all the luck in the world in overcoming his problems.

I would be worried if he is not taking his medication. If so, that could be bad news. If he is taking them, then it's a good sign because the medication is doing it's job. Some doctors try to only have people on anti-depressants for a short time. My doctor tried that, but I just went from here :) to here :( again.

No, a large, large segment of the American population takes an antidepressant of some sort. If he needs them, then he needs them.

You should talk to him and find out about his depression. In todays world about 60% of adults are or have been on anti-depressants at some time in their lives. Depression comes in many sizes and shapes. Not all people with depression are suicidal.

You should be happy because he is going to be fine. If he is not treated you have to suffer.
The prevalence is high http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinical_depression#Prevalence
The Government should mix antidepressants in drinking water, thesedays almost all of us have some problems!

There are several ways to think of this. It could be a strenght... he's gotten professional help, and is taking his medication to help himself. Now, maybe you can help him explore the reasons why he is feeling depressed. Maybe explore how it's affected him? But at least he's seeking help for his condition. That's great!
