It absolutly detroys everything in its path, including the only place we call home, mother earth. Now why would you want to destroy the only place we will ever have to live? Lets ask Bush.

I think that it all depends on the end result that is being sought after when one decides to go to war. If you knew that the end result of the war was going to get food for more of the poorer people in the world or make the world a safer place, then in the long run a war can actually help the world. But if the end result was not of a good reason, then in the long run, it detroys. The immediate fighting in war destroys, but if the cause is just, it can help in the long run.

War is an integral part of the human condition, yes eventually we will destroy ourselves, whether we have war or not, we will consume ourselves out of existance.
I challenge you to find a period of more that a few days in the last 3000 years of recorded history when someone, somewhere has not been at war.
Guess what, we are all still here and able to whine about it.

Ah yes the moral question: To War or not to War.

Historically War has served a purpose far greater than humans dieing and the conquering of land and peoples. It has spread a wealth of unknown knowledge and brought poorer countries and nations out of Poverty. Now, granted modern warfare is highly political but:
We must ask one question: Is the world safer sitting around waiting on war? Or, should we seek leaders and Nations preparing to stand against us and stop it before it starts?

WW1-Named the War to end all Wars...hmmmm..guess not
WW2- The world stood by watching Hitler build his Nazi Empire

From those 2 modern mistakes of mankind. We learned to attempt to take the fight to the aggressor:

Korean War
Vietnam
First Iraq war
etc etc

To dis-allow the tyrants of the world the ability to rise up as Hilter, Napoleon and countless other Dictators and world conquers have done.

Thanks

What about Darfur? Should we allow genocide, or go kick some warlord ***? Or do we sit idle and allow the natural course of events, especially beings it's a civil war? I say we fight for the preservation of the American way of life!

War does not help anything. It is the last resort for those who refuse to concede to the fact that their ideas just are not right for the people.

A good soldier prays for peace.

It really depends. Without war, Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini would be in power for much longer and would have had the opportunity to do much more harm.

War for oil makes no sense at all.

Both. If you're getting rid of people like Adolf Hitler or Saddam Hussein, you're helping.

I think war helps in certain cases such as dystorying The Nazi rule. It was also good in the bombing of serbia.

It's good at times but also not good at other times when it is targeting civilians.
