In biology, an organ (Latin: organum, "instrument, tool") is a group of tissues that perform a specific function or group of functions. Usually there is a main tissue and sporadic tissues. The main tissue is the one that is unique for the specific organ. For example, main tissue in the heart is the myocardium, while sporadic are the nervous, blood, connective etc. (Wikipedia.org)
In zootomy and dermatology, skin is an organ of the integumentary system made up of multiple layers of epithelial tissues that guard underlying muscles and organs. As the interface with the surroundings, it plays the most important role in protecting against pathogens. Its other main functions are insulation and temperature regulation, sensation and vitamin D and B synthesis. Skin is considered one of the most important parts of the body.(Wikipedia.org)
Pretty much the skin is considered an organ because it is a group of tissues speciallizing in a certain task / tasks. For example the skin regulates temperature by using the sweat glands to produce sweat - sweat evaporates and cools the body.

It functions as a organ.
The skin is often known as "the largest organ of the human body". This applies to exterior surface, as it covers the body, appearing to have the largest surface area of all the organs. Moreover, it applies to weight, as it weighs more than any single internal organ, accounting for about 15 percent of body weight. For the average adult human, the skin has a surface area of between 1.5-2.0 square meters, most of it is between 2-3 mm thick. The average square inch of skin holds 650 sweat glands, 20 blood vessels, 60,000 melanocytes, and more than a thousand nerve endings.

You know that is like one of those wripley believe it or not type of questions. The only way I can see your skin as an organ is that it needs to breath like your internal organs. And if your organs (skin) does not breath right your pores get clogged and you get acne. Thats how I can see it as an organ and don't forget that in the summer time you sweat. I hope I answered your question to the fullest. :)
