Drink lots of water... try slippery elm, drink prune juice and avoid carbohydrates.

I am really sorry to hear about your situation. First many people have made some great recommendations. Drink lots of water, eat healthy like lots of veggies and fruit as much as you can possible. You need to keep a well balanced diet.
Try to do this as naturallly as you possibly can. Don't eat too much cheese, that is a problem.

Go to the health food store in your area and get Smooth Move, it is a natural tea that is a laxative as well. It doesn't taste too bad either. Just put some honey or sugar and drink up !
We have used this on our son before.

OUCH! I've had a lot of that sort of trouble since abdominal surgery a few weeks ago, and wound up in the hospital for a week for it (that was stupid, they didn't treat the problem until I'd been there for five damn days) they gave me a liquid laxative that was clear yellow and Rx only and I don't remember the name (tres helpful, no?) But it worked within a day.

Did you get treatment for sciatica? Go see your regular doctor (not the hospital) and stamp your feet and insist on treatment. Be polite but firm and don't leave until they give you a workable treatment. And don't let them suck you back into the hospital!

Have you had ANY bowel movements after all that you have done???? if not, your abdomen would be swollen & very crampy. If your pain is in your back & shoots down your legs, then that is sciatica. The XRay should show if your bowel is distended and full, so listen to the doctor. good luck & try to relax.

Prunes and some apple juice. That's gotta clear everything out.

Not to sound gross but you may just need a pair of rubber gloves and a jar of vaseline. The longer you stay constipated the worse it will be.
