i have a game, specifically EA Sports Nascar 2000 that was published in the year 2000. It says it is compatible with Windows 95 and Windows 98, but specifically says "Windows 2000 and Windows NT are not supported." I thought Windows was supposed to be downward compatible?!

Can someone who knows more about operating systems than I do tell me if this game will be compatible with Windows XP, SP 2? And why wouldn't it be compatible with Win 2000 and Win NT?

I checked their website (easports.com) but it doesn't even mention this game anymore.

Anyone who could help me understand this all, I'd sure appreciate it!

In XP, you can right click a program, go to properties, in the compatibility tab, you can choose to run the program in several compatibility modes

The Windows family are really different from each other, some features are supported in one OS, others aren't.
