Why do you not attack Islamic posters with the same vigor as you attack Christians? We do not hang homos in the village square, or atheists or anyone else we disagree with. The threat Islam poses to your beliefs and safety is far worse than "evangelicals" ringing your doorbell or challenging the legitimacy of your sciences.
Anyone for a real discussion?

EDIT: Well, I got many intelligent and kind responses. Thanks to all who did.
To a few who were perturbed :
aksana: the way I stated the science part of the question was in drawing a parallel between the difference in what you are up against. That is what "christians" are attacking, isn't it, what they call "so-called science"? It was a phrase, not an attack.
Chefed: I am well aware of the bloody history of the Catholic Church. I do not consider it part of the Christian Church any more than al-queda is part of Islam. I believe the Pilgrims lived peacefully with the Indians. It was our Gov't that launched war on them (the natives are not innocent in this matter, either), not churches and denominations. So I will not shut the eff up, because I am not as ignorant as you appear to be. I will respond to you no longer, as you are always nasty in your posts.
Turmoil : I'm not stressed. Not even a little.

Jim L - Good points, I believe neo-cons are a threat to our way of life as well. I think intelligent Christians help vote these rascals out.
Prolly won't last more than an election cycle or two...

I think that violent radical religious extremists are dangerous no matter what their religion is. I agree that there is more radical Islam than there is radical Christianity, and I am very concerned about it growing. But I recognize that Islam, like Christianity, can be a religion of peace.
My biggest concern is with Christianity in the U.S. This is largely because I think that the Christian support of the Neoconservative policies are fanning the flames of radical Islam. I want this country to take a purely secular approach to terrorism. We need to seek justice, not revenge. We need to understand how to defend ourselves from terrorists, not make preemptive war against entire countries. My goal is to make Christians in the U.S. think more clearly, as I think that is required if we are to eventually make Muslims think more clearly.

I think if you read my other answers, you will see that I am much harder on Islam. I feel threated personally by Islam, not Christianity.
There are more Christian posts and the Christians are more likely to directly ask atheists questions so the volume of responses to Christians is higher but you can see that my rhetoric is much easier on Christians.

No atheist is familiar with how the universe replaced into created. the idea of the large bang presently matches what we do recognize besides the undeniable fact that about the increasing universe. Now the idea of the large bang replaced into initially presented up by a catholic priest so as that isn't in conflict with faith in step with SE. the issue with your statement that each and every thing calls for something to create that is that you do not extremely recognize that both you purely trust it with the information you imagine you've in the front of you. the concept that god existed and not using a author could grant you with some idea how we may be able to trust that count number exists previous to existence as all of us recognize and may have actually perpetually. the large bang may have befell billions of cases contracted and befell again in accordance to three theories. The invisible hand of god is used as a default the following, by putting forward in view that we do no completely understand the creation of the universe than it must be attributed to an invisible being. nicely the early cultures did not understand the solar and they attributed it to a fiery chariot pushed by a god. similar premise in my recommendations because i will not conceive of something at this level does not make it not conceivable, yet i do not ought to hotel to the default position of attributing it to a god.

I never had Islamics knock at my door .
As far as all religions ,I think they should be outlawed once they are known to cause violence .Oh by the way Christians DID kill people in order to spread their word .
Study the Christian Crusades ,Pope Pius`s order to kill 600,00 Ottoman Turks for not converting .The Spanish Inquisition ,And the Slaughter of most of the American Indians done by Good Christians while STEALING THEIR LAND.
NOW SHUT THE EFF UP before you make a stupid accusation again.

This isn't a message board. If you want a discussion, go find a nice forum where you can whine to your hearts content.
And no, Islam does not pose a larger threat. Islamic crazies do, just like Christian crazies and Scientology crazies. Religion inspires violence and discrimination, yes, but ultimately it is humans who carry out atrocities in the name of religion.

Simply put, I'm not dealing with islamic fascists in the USA. I'm dealing with a small vocal minority of Christans in the USA who feel justified in shoving their religion and rules for living down my throat even though I don't share their religion.
I support all people's rights to believe as their heart requires of them. I'll even discuss openly and frankly the various gods and goddesses of any and all religions. But the moment there is the slightest effort for force or compulsion, their butt's mine.

Real discussion? In your question you are already challenging the "legitimacy of our sciences" as you call it. You imply we should be grateful for you not hanging anyone who does not share your view on life in the village square and then you call for a discussion? And you do not see the absurdity of it?

Most atheists are surrounded by Christians as far as I know, for one thing. If there were a lot of Muslims that disagreed with our beliefs and bothered us to convert all the time and stuff, then you'd have a point.

I think the true purpose of a believer in Christ is not to struggle against any other men on earth, regardless of what labels they bear or have been attributed to.
But it is to struggle against his own self to deserve being His follower and cooperate with all people in building His Kingdom on earth.
So instead of discussing who to be attacked, we better discuss how to turn all enmity into love, which is the first commandment of Christ.

True Muslims don't do the things you mentioned either. Muslim extremists do. Just as Christian extremists burn crosses and lynch black people.
We focus on Christians because most of us live in the US, where Christianity is the predominant religion. Muslims aren't trying to push their beliefs on us in every day life, Christians are. Muslims aren't trying to use their dogma to influence laws all of us must live by, Christians are.
