It just depends on when you are ready. Then, when the opportunity presents itself.
I am a female but I was 18 when I decided to have sex..
It sucked so don't look forward to it the first time...LOL
Also I have many guy friends who have told me that they lied back in school about the number of girls they were with. Believe me when I say, MANY boys lie about their sexual partners or lack there of.

Hey....well my 18 year old son told people he wasn't a virgin and had sex at 17 and I even believed him...then later when he turned 18 and really had sex...he said mom that was really my first time. Had to keep up my image. So I was proud my son never really had sex..but then again I wished he would of held off to make sure he was in love.
He got together with a girl five years older than him at 18. I could of sunk in the couch and hide when I found out. Just me being a mom I guess.
Then I have another son..he is now 17. He lost his virginity at age 16 after daten this girl for two years....(I was ready to kick him)..but he said that he wished he had waited cause he loved her and she left him. Broke his heart something terrible. So if he was here he would tell you to wait dude.
and something else....
I use to date this guy and he was 34 and still a virgin. So see...there are some good guys out there they just dont advertise. We dated for a whole year...never not once had sex.

Who the hell cares about the average age.
If you're in a very committed, loving, trusting relationship with another person and the timing is right and you're both comfortable and there's no chance of regret or awkward feelings, then go ahead.
By no means should you run out and find some random girl and sleep with her just so you can say you lost your virginity. Because when you DO finally find that girl that you really care for, you'll be regretting that you slept with some girl that didn't mean anything to you first, instead of the girl you DO care about.
The easiest way to avoid the awkward moment of "I haven't had sex yet" in a 'man-circle' would be to avoid the conversation altogether. And if you can't, you can always just say how pathetic it is for guys to go around bragging about who they've slept with to all their buddies. And if they bug you about only saying that because you're still a virgin, you can turn it right around on them. I'd say about 75% of high school guys who brag about having sex ... never have. ;)

Bravo for you! I'm waiting till I'm married and ideally my husband will too. No prostitute. You could just take a strange pleasure in being so different. I've done that to people before. (not about this) It throws them off pretty well to find out you don't (or pretend you don't) care about what ever they are talking about. Then you can have a little laugh later. It absolutely does not make you a loser to be a virgin. Again, I say Bravo.

I was 19. I know 32 year old virgins, and people who lost it a lot younger than I consider proper, but the average? Probably 17 or 18, because that's when most kids move out or go to college and have the oppurtunity.

Be proud that you are a virgin....when all your friend's penises are falling off from some STD that they caught, you will have a shiny, never used one, to utilize with the right girl, at the right time...when YOU are ready. Sex is not something to take lightly....and who knows what the average age is, boys/men tend to lie when they lost their virginity..that way, they don't seem like a "loser" as you put it..

One of my best friends is 22 and still a virgin. He wants to wait until he is married not only for religious reasons but also because he wants to wait for the right person. It is completely up to you when you would like to lose your virginity but honestly don't just lose it because you want to be part of the crowd. It is ok to be an individual!

dont let them intimidate you.maybe your friends are just lieing to you about them having sex.just wait till that someone special comes along.i know its hard at your age,but just be yourself and have respect for your body.theres nothing wrong about being a virgin,it just means you havent found the right girl, and fall in love.
