I think it's threatening. This is why I do not worship a Deity who bases admittance to an afterlife based on one picking the "right" religion. There are too many cases when very good people would be punished unjustly. Instead, I feel that how we behave, the contents of our souls, and the condition we leave the world in for future generations is what matters.

well, i say that we pretty much get ourselves into the mess of the whole burning thing, and the only way to get out is to obey. God doesn't want us in hell for crying out loud. He's trying to help us get out.

it certianly puts the MOST POPULAR 2 religions in perspective, however not every faith views God quite like that. Some of us are a bit more open minded and optimistic.

Love. Because the ones who are going to burn (and still be conscience about it) will be the the outcome of God's promise to Hid chosen ones against the unbelievers, who said, "Revenge is mine. I will repay."

blackmail.
If this is what your religion teaches, may I suggest Christianity. The message there is "love me or burn." Thank God it isn't "obey me" or we'd all burn.

If you are a little child reaching out to touch a hot stove and your Father tells you to obey him and not touch the stove....it is love.

I assume your statement is intended to mock the very God that loves you and gave you life. God is love. God is justice. To not obey God is to act in an unloving and unjust way. To not obey God is to choose a selfish path that leads to destruction and separation from God.
Choose life. Choose Christ. He loves you so much he died so that you may inherit eternal life where he will wipe every tear from your eye. However, he is also loving and has given you the free will to deny and reject him and choose to be alienated from Him and perish. I hope you choose life.
