I think it would pop up again in a short period of time for two reasons.

1) People are instinctually fearful. The greatest fear is death, and there will always be someone who will try to prey on that fear, exploit it, and make a profit off of it - ergo religions.

2) Humans are obsessively curious, creative, and EGOTISTICAL. If we can't figure out the real reason why something is, we will happily invent one, if for no other reason than to say, "it's because of this." Few people can live with the concept of, "I just don't know."

What do you think?

You are exactly right...people want to SURVIVE. The easiet way to do that without taking responsibility, is to create a God who gives eternal life...to have someone else responsible for individual life.

If we could be a God free intellectual people, we would actually be better off. We would take responsibility for ourselves instead of blaming God or the Devil, we would be less fearful and more helpful to other people. There would be less war and fighting and bickering in the world and even among families.

Unfortunately, there are too many people who still need to depend on something outside themselves and can't believe that their own mind is powerful beyond belief.

Nelson Mandella said, we aren't afraid of our darkness, we are afraid of our light. We aren't afraid of failure, we are afraid of success. We are really afraid of who we really are.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone could see themselves as wise, powerful and good beyond belief instead of stupid, weak and evil? We exist right where big enterprise wants us...feeling defenseless, weak, stupid and evil. We are better controlled that way!

I agree with you 100%! Hail Neighbor!

nicely my expensive sister, i think of that we the two be attentive to that each and every physique concern based religions could the two tragically fade away, or bypass underground.... To think of that we could desire to alter right into a extra non secular based tolerant worldwide could be acceptable, as long as all of the different prompt desires of the worldwide have been addressed in an extremely instantaneous style....feeding the hungry, overpopulation, looking after the planet .... yet on the comparable time, i could believe Raji, lol, this physique is beginning as much as weaken and age....i'm looking forward to the hot one and the subsequent time around consistent with possibility i could have sufficient sense to take slightly extra valuable care of this shell of a physique! vivid reward My chum! )o( Trinity

I think that's quite an interesting question. There are a lot of people who need to believe in something, so if there wasn't religion, they'd find something else to believe in or to give their power to.

From a scientific aspect, it's too bad we could never find out the answer to this question. I think it would be quite fascinating to find out the answer.

Do you think you can do it?

False religion preys on people as you state.

Does the "true religion" have the chance to be magically wiped out of the collective conscious of tomorrow? We'll have to wait & see.

well why live life if there's nothing to believe in? a higher power is linked to EVERYTHING if you really give it some thought. The concious human mind is fragile and needs some "back bone" for stability. if there was nothing to believe in then there'd be nothing to live for therefore we'd be, have nothing which makes everything confusing because if we're nothing then why do we even think of questions like this?

I agree -- within a short time people would begin following something, and then another group would be making fun of them for doing so!

God does not allow any men to possess such magical power. So don't waste time in following or in fearing such imagination.

"Is there any Remover of difficulties save God? Say: Praised be God! He is God! All are His servants, and all abide by His bidding!"

I think people would feel lost and go a little crazy not knowing the truth that they've believed all their lives was no longer there.

To love with out Jesus in your life is to live in darkness. To live in hare and not love. To not love anyone just use them. People with out God become hateful and bitter. Our Lord teaches love and forgiveness . The other side is hate and getting even.Jesus is the light and the truth. Satan is lies, and darkness.
