I'm just curious.
I've read a lot on Yahoo Answers - of people losing loved ones, and seeking any way to get them back - including love spells and the like.
Generally the only responses posted come from people saying "why would you want someone to come back to you if they'd been forced into it" etc etc - and much ruder answers about people's heartbreak also.
You never hear the other side of the story - if there is one?
I would just like to hear from some 'pro-love spell' types (ie. witches I guess) to hear how they justify this side of things.

Sorry. I should probably clarify that I'm not a witch. Have not cast any spells. But ask as a response to other questions I've read on this site. You could say that it's just sparked my curiosity!

The same reason we pray to god to make someone we want, want us.

Not all Witches advocate ALL kinds of love spells.

Those that tamper with freewill (like the kinds you're talking about) are not condoned by the Witches' Rede. However, not all Witches (people of all religions - or no religion - who use witchcraft) live by the Witches' Rede.

Love spells that are more widely accepted (and used) are those to strengthen existing love, encourage love in general or broad terms, and the like. Also, depending on what kind of love you're referring to, there are also many spells to encourage fertility...

But spells that tamper with other people's thoughts, feelings and actions are forbidden in many (or rather, some) forms of witchcraft. However, those would not be so much "love" spells as they would be "lust" spells. Actual LOVE is much too complicated to just...create.

No ethical witch would ever try to work manipulative magic on anyone. Well....OK, there may be times, but it would be in the full knowledge that what she did would rebound on her, threefold.

That aside, there ARE attraction spells that are not manipulative, and that work. They are not, however, the kind that appeal to many people.

To wit:

First, you have to know what it's like to be in love. We are *different* when we are in love; we are more appreciative of everything, we are more alive to wonder, we are more noticing, we are more vibrant. We get up in the morning excited about life, about the possibility of seeing the one we love, we sing and hum our way through the day, we have a bright smile for everyone we meet, we are not upset by petty annoyances, and so on.

Now, here's the spell part.

BEHAVE AS IF YOU ARE IN LOVE. INSIDE AS WELL AS OUTSIDE.

Every day. All day.

This will make you amazingly attractive to a whole LOT of people.

And it doesn't involve having to get candle wax out of your altar cloth..

Of course, if you also want to do a generalized working to attract someone, you certainly can. It often helps to focus your intent to do that.

And here we go: Take one candle in a color appropriate for yourself, and carve your name into it (mundane or magical name); take another candle and rather than a name, carve into it the attributes you are looking for in a person to love. Put the candles around a foot apart on your altar.

Sanctify your space., light the candles. Concentrate on the feeling of being in love, and recite the attributes you carved into the second candle. Do this for as long as you can hold your concentration. Do your normal "take down" of sacred space.

The next day (or night) do the same thing, but move the two candles a little closer to each other - don't just move the second one toward the first one...because in love, the two people move together; it's not one person chasing the other.

Repeat this until the candles are touching. Leave them that way until you've chosen the one (of many!) people who respond to you.

The above does NOT replace doing the "behaving as if you are in love" part, it only reinforces it by giving you a concrete thing to focus on, and a symbol set that says "this is coming closer".

Not all spells that fall into the catagory of "Love Spells" involve infringing on another's free will.

Preforming a spell, to ask for qualitites in a love you want, without naming a specific person isn't a harmful spell.

Besides. Not every one who practises Magick goes by Wiccan Ethics.

I am a Wiccan and I don't believe in doing love spells to get a lover back because that would be going against someone's free will. You can't force someone to love you no matter how many spells you try.
Blessed be!

Darling, love spells exist, but the love is a euphamism--you cannot make anybody love you and any spell cast for that is going to blow up in your face--all witches know that--but I am not above using lust spells from time to time, I just know how they'll end

2006-11-13 13:46:06 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 3 0

They don't, at least not a real witch. A real witch will not mess with someone's free will like that, because that is the very essence of harming that person. Our Rede clearly states that we are to HARM NONE. So, a real witch doesn't do love spells, and if you've heard someone claim to be a witch and does do them, they're lying to you, they are not real witches.

Witches are not suppose to interfere with free will. However, the witch books are full of spells doing that very thing. If you have no evil intent, spells can be worthy, if you are evil, your spells can have the boomerang effect and come back to haunt you. All I can say is I've done them for people.........just remember "be very careful what you wish for"

Yes. God told Moses that witches must die in the nation of Israel. They knew the penalty of being a witch. They could have gone to a pagan nation. Israel did not go out witch hunting in other nations. So they had only themselves to blame. Israel was a theocracy and everyone had to follow the Law.

Love spells...

... a witch knows better than to do a love spell on a specific person. Love spells are done in order to attract desired traits in people. Ironically, specific spells... well... let me give an example.

We have three people. Witch Ai, Dave, and Sean.

Witch Ai is in love with Dave, but Dave's not interested in her. So, she does a spell to attract Dave to her... a spell to get males who are tan-skinned with black hair and green eyes to fall in love with her. BUT! Sean is tan-skinned with black hair and green eyes. Catch is, he's a raging psychopath out to kill people. The spell fails, and Sean falls in love with Witch Ai. Now she has to deal with a stalker-psychopath.

I can be considered a Witch, honestly, but, I'm against love spells.

One thing you have to take into account when spell casting.. at least responsible spell casting, is just that.. responsibility. I would never do a love spell to make someone love me, nor would I ever do one to make someone love someone else.

What I would consider doing is a spell that would make myself more acceptable and open to being loved or advise someone else of that, not trying to force or manipulate someone into something.
