Its really up to you how long your car is going to last, no matter what the make is. Its up to you how well you take care of it, give it service at proper intervals. Any car make will last ..............it all depends on the owner and how much he appreciates his purchase. I have a 1994 ford taurus with 235,000 miles and runs great getting 26 mpg.

out of all vehicles on the road with over 250,000 miles on them. more of them are ford f series than any other make/model. f-150, and that same truck has been the best selling truck in America for the last 29 years in a row. that is saying something, and that's not my word its J. D. power & assoc.
but it depends on your location, if its an area prone to rust it wont matter that a toyota 22re gets a quarter million, the body will not last till then anyway.
maybe i should add that i have owned many small cars, toyota corrollas, camrys, pickups. honda civics, accords, integras. mazdas, cosmo, mx5, protege.... ect. all these people who have had a few different models.. DO NOT KNOW. only if you have owned several types of each, even then if they just owned them and were not the ones maintaining them they dont know **** anyway and shouldnt even try to answer.

I'd say toyota is a good car to get. I have a CIVIC that's 11 years old and it's been good to me. Of course though my dad helps me care and maintain it, but it was just cuz I was a teenager when I got it. HONDAS a teen car pretty much and I fell in love with it cuz of that but I guess if you're a bit more mature, I'd go ahead and get the Toyota. Good LUck. I might get a new car pretty soon too! But I'm not sure what though.

Toyota/Lexus & Honda/Acura
My 1995 Acura Integra GSR just went over the 200,000 mile mark last month. And I treated that car like crap for a few years...it went with no oil for like a month! Tough machine!
But I will admit, the paint on these cars dont hold up as well as the domestic car's paint jobs like Ford or Chevy. But hey, whats a paint job when your car can drive 300k miles on the same engine?

I bought a used Honda Accord with 200K miles and went another 25K miles without a single problem. I just changed the oil once, that's it. I took it on 30+ non-stop trips of 500 miles and it never once broke down. Got 40mpg to boot. Best used car I've ever bought. And it cost $900 from a dealer.
FORD will go 200K miles..... sure, on it's 3rd rebuilt engine.

Any toyota's are amazing.
My toyota corrola just hit 150,000 miles without ever having a huge problem. I had some rust issues at 100,000 miles and a little transmission trouble at 125,000 miles but that is it.

toyota best, honda a close second...but it seems that the bodies of toyotas don't last as long as the honda's...all depends on how well you take care of the body, and engine and tranny, for that matter, on how long it will last. i've had 2 fords last into the 300k range...and a acura (made by honda) with over 200k...

American cars had a bad rap for a long time . Today they are much better than 20 yrs. ago. I have a '89 Ford Ranger it has
209,000 miles on it. It still runs great.

Honda and Toyota, respectively. They are built to last. They have a very low maintainence reputation.
Peace.
