You are correct in your assessment, except a lot of illegal workers get paid in cash so the employer could still pay them what he wanted to any way.Still at $ 7.25 that's not a very livable wage but it better than $ 5.25.
Small cpmpanys will be excempt as they are now, from having to pay the minimum wage.It depends I think on how many workers you employ.
I dont think it will have much of an effect on the illegal unless hes working somewhere that he gets a check and taxes taken out, then he may be able to get the minimum wage.

I don't know. Are illegals even paid minimum wage now? if it goes up they probably won't be. Hopefully the government will do something to keep them out, and it will be a moot point. I have nothing at all against immigrants, and even people coming here to work in an orderly fashion. We just can't have undocumented people coming in and out of the country as they please in this day and age. I support comprehensive immigration reform that has robust guest worker program, but very strong methods for stopping illegal immigration. No benefits for illegals, and heavy fines for companies that hire them would be a good start.

Do you quite think of that companies that use unlawful immigrant workers pay the minimum salary? Is the minimum salary the only situation it is retaining you from getting a job? What guy or woman with a corporation degree (which you declare to have) has a minimum salary job?

people who hire illegals do not pay minimum wage, not even close
i know a mexican who works 16 hours a day 7 days a week for $500 a week.
That is about $4.64 an hour, people who work with illegals dont get minimum wage or pay taxes, due to the under-the-table work

I can't see how undocumented workers come under a law raising minimum wage since they are not American citizens, pay no social security or tax and are usually paid cash under the table.

haha
well i'm a freshman in high school
and i'm learning about this RIGHT NOW.
well the illegal immigrants take the jobs that make our lives easier
but they usually work for the minimum wage
if the min. wage was raised, i guess there would be more ill. imm.!
these ill. imm. are sorta in a way demanding these jobs and we americans are supplying it.
if the min wage goes up, we'd supply more and they would demand more.
meaning... min wage goes up = we pay them more, and they'd want to work more
but dont trust my sources. i dont pay any attention in that class!

They will still pay them cash under the table, less money, no taxes, both the illegal and the corrupt employer wins.
