Heartburn is when gastric acid goes back up the esophagas. This can be a simple problem easily fix by antcids or it can be signs of a more serious problem (like reflux, caused when the valvue at the top of the stomach isn't working correctly ). Heartburn can damage the lining of the esophogas over time.

Heartburn or pyrosis is a painful or burning sensation in the esophagus, just below the breastbone caused by regurgitation of gastric acid. [1] The pain often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw. Heartburn is also identified as one of the causes of chronic cough, and may even mimick asthma.
Heartburn actually has nothing to do with the heart; it is so called because of a burning sensation of the breastbone, although some heart problems have a similar sensation to heartburn.
Indigestion is a condition that is frequently caused by eating too fast, especially by eating high-fat foods quickly.
Symptoms of indigestion are as follows:
A pain or a burning feeling in the upper portion of the stomach
Feeling sick to one's stomach; nausea
Feeling bloated
Sometimes uncontrollable burping
Heartburn
A bitter taste in the mouth from stomach acid coming up into the esophagus.
Antacids neutralise excess stomach acid, and can provide temporary relief of indigestion.
In anatomy, the intestine is the portion of the alimentary canal extending from the stomach to the anus and, in humans and other mammals, consists of two segments, the small intestine and the large intestine (or colon). In humans, the small intestine is further subivided into the duodenum, jejunum and ileum while the large intestine is subdivided into the cecum, colon and rectum.

Heartburn is a buring sensation caused when acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus. An upset stomach may or may not be accompanied by a burning sensation. Intestines are the last part of the digestive tract. If they have issues it would be diarrhea, constipation, and gas.

heartburn is caused by stomach acid acting on the bottom of the esophagus or food-pipe. it could be a symptom of gastric reflux disease (caused by a weak pyloric valve) or simply an overfull stomach. Take Gaviscon, which floats a layer of antacid on top of the stomach contents. If it persists or keeps coming back, see a doctor.

You'll know it when you have it , that's why the call it heart burn. Generally you have a pain in your upper chest that feels like it is burning, bile may come into your throat( reflux), you have a lot of gas and sometimes you can burp but nost times not.It hurts like the dickens.
Totally different feeling from an upset stomach. It usually comes from eating greasy or fried foods or things with too much acid .
And it's not like gall bladder pain either.
