Is it the duty of the postal serc=vice to be the last defence of the US?

What are any websites giving further info and if the US military was to be demolished who would the responsibility fall on to protect us? Is it the postal service?
Need REAL sources?

Although Letter Carriers swear to protect and defend the Constitution they have very little to do with national defense. If the army crumbles we would be left in the hands of the national guard, state and local police forces. After that it would be like the movie "Red Dawn" where average citizens had to rise to the occasion.

The mission of the USPS is communication and if all military communication fails it is the duty of the USPS to carry on.

For example, in a time of war, if the the following come to an unregulated four way intersection: a troop carrier truck, an ambulance carrying a wounded soldier, a fire truck and a USPS rural carrier, who would have the right of way?

The rural carrier has the right of way by law as they could be carrying vital information for the military.

I know this is an outlandish and rather outdated circumstantial situation but communication always takes precedent in military law .

Is this what you are referring to?

Do we still have a postal service? They collected all the mailboxes and they removed all the stamp machines. I thought they went out of business.

Why not, they all carry AK47s and pistols anyways to work.. They could do just as good a job as any 3rd world miltary source out there.

It should be. My mail carrier is a crazy old dude. I would feel pretty safe with him on guard.
