I don't think it matters whether your hair is curly or straight. I think it is more to do with your body's chemistry. I have always had natural curly hair compared to my brother who is 5 years younger, who has always had straight hair. I am 37 and still have a full thick head of hair. My brother is bald except for the extreme outer sides and back. He usually just shaves it all off.

Sounds like an urban legend to me. I come from a family of curly headed folks. All of the old folks in the clan (80 and 90 year olds) have some thinning but no balding. One of my brothers didn't get the curly gene. His hair WAS straight. Most of it is gone now at age 52.

Actually, I have to disagree with this. Straight hair is usually thinner so I would guess that they would lose their hair faster. However, I don't think your likelihood of going bald has to do with whether your hair is curly or straight at all, it has to do with your genes and how thick (or thin) your hair texture is.

I never heard that before but now that I think of it I recall kids with afro-thickness curly hair that have lost it all not that many years later.

no truth what-so-ever
balding is hereditory doesnt matter if your hair is curly, str8, wavy, chemically enhanced or otherwise....
the only thing that can make you loose hair is if you put a lot of chemicals in your hair too often and not properly.. but that just makes hair thin, it doesn't bald

going bald depends on your mothers side plus it also depends on if your hair is thick or not not weather its straight or curly
