Most experts consider Sugar Ray Robinson (1921-89) the beat fighter that ever lived. The original 'Sugar', fought 200 bouts between 1940 and 1965, compiling a record of 173 wins,19 losses, 6 draws and 2 no contests, and scoring 108 ko's. Ray won the Welterweight championship and was 5 times the World Middleweight champion. He beat all the best out there, including Jake LaMotta 5 out of 6 times, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, Randolph Turpin, 'Bobo' Olsen and Rocky Graziano. Ray was only lost one fight inside the distance, and that was because of heat exhaustion, when he challenged Joey Maxim for the Light Heavyweight title in 1952. The temperature was 104 degrees and the original referee had to be replaced in round 10...by the way, Ray was ahead in that fight before he had to give up.
